If it has a receiver with full auto, commando.
If it has a rifle stock and a scope, Sniper
Rifle stock, no scope, rifle
Pistol handle, no auto, no scope, it's a pistol.
I *think* a pistol grip with a scope is still a pistol.
so, basically:
- Adding a scope mod on any weapon will turn it into a Rifle Type
- Adding an Auto mod on any weapon will turn it into an Auto Type
- whitout a scope and auto mods, any weapon is a pistol (?)
Also let me ask: Will Commando perk work on gatlings?
Incorrect on -adding a scope on any weapon will turn it into a rifle type. Its the addition of a stock that does it.
Pistol grips=pistol, stock=rifle.
Btw scopes don't change the type. STOCKS do.
1. If a weapon is heavy, its type never changes and it always uses the Heavy Gunner perk.
2. If not heavy, a weapon can be automatic and uses the Commando perk.
3. If not automatic or heavy, a weapon is a rifle if it has a rifle stock, and a pistol if it has a pistol grip. Rifles use the Rifleman perk, Pistols use the Gunslinger perk.
There are exceptions to the third rule if you use console commands or exploit game glitches, but you won't really run across that if you're making normal weapon modifications.
