Hunter/hunted quest stuck
So im playing fallout 4 for the third time and i got on to the quest hunter/hunted and i didnt connect to the courser signal because i know where i was going so i went in the building, killed the gunners then killed the courser, got the chip and completed the quest. Now nothings happening, If i remember correctly your supposed to go to virgil and tell him you got the chip, but thats not the case instead he keeps saying stuff like "Get the chip" and stuff. So i went to a faction to tell them, still nothing happens. I cant reload a save because my last save on my list was AFTER i did the quest and this started happening. So either can someone tell me how to get all my saves on my list (because most disapear after i go off the game) or a way i can get the storyline moving. Thanks

Who did you plan on having help you build the transport device? That's what has to happen next. When you went to the faction, what exactly happened? Once you start the ball rolling with one of them, there are a few things you have to do in between, but again, it depends on which one you really want to do the deed with.

Did you try turning on the courser signal and going back into the area again? It may be that some little something needs to verify (flip a switch 1/0 or whatever) to indicate that you've actually done that, otherwise, I have no idea. That has actually never happened to me and I've not seen that in any of the discussions.

Do you at least know a way i can get a save back from before i did the quest? because they have all since disapeared if theres really no other way ill have to loose 5 hours of progress

Well, if it can't be located in your save files on the computer (not talking about what the game is actually showing you), then 5 hours are probably going to be lost. However, you know what to do, where to go, how to do it, and how you want it to be, and it won't take as long this time. Consider that part of that time was running about trying to figure out how to fix it, so it will not take you as long to get to the point you want to be.

I wish I had a better answer, but I will say that I've found saves on my computer in the actual file explorer that I could not see in the game and was able to access them that way. Good luck!
