I believe that problem is not with the mod, but with NMM. It is taking it's last breaths. I have installed BodySlide files with MO2 and they work just fine with it. When I last tested with Vortex, it also installed them correctly.
NMM is a pain in the butt. It has a bunch of issues, which do are not consistent among user base. I couldn't reproduce issues, where NMM installs files to wrong folders, or leaves data uninstalled. However, several others did. It is a mess.
I would recommend that people would start getting used to idea that NMM is going to be obsolete. MO2 or Vortex are viable replacements for it.
2.1.1 is viable version. We are currently testing the new development build, toward next full release.
Just remember that MO2 does not have archive invalidation feature like 32bit MO did. Tannin removed it from the build and current development team has decided not to include it either.
