Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch Required?
I had no end of glitchy wonk when I first attempted to play vanilla Fallout 4. The key bindings not matching anything I bound and getting stuck on the silo elevator when exiting the beginning bunker really sucked.

So I found the unofficial patch on Nexusmods and thought it may offer some relief. But it requires a bunch of other mods to work which I'm not sure that I even want them.

So I'm at an impasse.

Any advice?

Some mods require it. But I been playing the game for around 3000 hrs and had no major game breaking issues not using it. Overall, the game is stable and the quests work as intended.

Really? The game doesn't like my rebound keys and insists on using specific hardcoded keys that are awkward for me. And the beginning stuck elevator Sucked. I had to research and reload I believe to get past that. It was game-stopping/breaking.

??? The Unofficial FO4 Patch https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598 has no dependencies other than the DLC.

Perhaps you were misinterpreting the modpage; there is a long list of other mods that need the patch, not vice versa.

Yeah - I might've misread it. I think I have all the DLC's - most have "in library" except high resolution texture pack and I think the creation club one.

So it needs all the DLC's?

I have:
- Automatron
- Contraptions Workshop
- Far Harbor
- Nuka-World
- Vault-Tec Workshop
- Wasteland Workshop

Dunno what load order mine are in... I think I got F4 bundled with all those DLC's above in a past Steam sale.

Does the Unofficial patch fix the bugged beginning vault elevator to the surface and allow the game to register and recognize my custom keybindings?

unofficial patch was not need unless you are playing with mod, that is. But there is couple bug but only you already knew what was ahead and avoid it, but game is far more better than skyrim where skyrim do need unofficial patch.

So I play vallian without unofficial patch many time, but when come to playing mod, it's worth it to install unofficial patch.

IDK about specific fixes-you would need to check the changelogs.
IDK about keybingings; at a guess it shouldn't have any effect on keybinding one way or another.

Thx guys!

Now the only other thing I recall that Sucked was load times for going in/exiting buildings. I have an internal SSD & HDD but the game is installed with OS on SSD.

I was looking around some other posts and it seems there are some fps mods that fix a lot of loading time issues. No idea if they are compatible or if they will create other problems/unstable:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10283

I think I'm just going to dive back in and start a new game and see what fails & where as it is. Then I guess I'll be back in this discussion forum looking for solutions.

Thx again!

I have a review showcase on my profile with a bunch of mods that make the game better without any gameplay changes, I recommend you download them for performance and just a better looking game

Thx! Yes, I'm going to try the Load Accelerator mod first and then the High FPS Physics Fix if the Load Accelerator alone didn't improve load times (yes I have a SSD).

Essentially it requires all the official DLC because it became to much of a hassle to make and keep updating a seperate version for each DLC and the vanilia game.
I would be surprised if UFO4P fixes your key remap issues. It is mainly aimed at fixing quest and script bugs, things like that, that are internal to the game logic. It does not really focus on hardware and peripherals afaik.

I use the default keys, except for movement. I changed them to the arrow keys. Works fine. Not had any issues exiting Vault 111. After more than a dozen play runs.
