Bodyslide builds outfits, but not the bodies
So bodyslide builds the outfits just fine as far as i can tell, but it wont fix the nude bodies that the outfits are shaped around. Im using Vortex and True Wasteland Body, along with Vtaw outfits. Thanks for the help!

Are you 100% sure?

What exactly do you mean by this? Details please.

Did you install the TWB mod properly, did you create a TWB preset and did your build your character's body using that preset?

Did you also install the TWB conversion mod(s) for the corresponding Vtaw outfits and/or wardrobes?

Lastly, are you using ANY of the Unique Player mods and if you are, did you install it properly?

TL:DR version - READ the mod pages, install the necessary requirements

some VTAW outfits don't work as well as other clothing mods. Usually people just make em for the default CBBE or certain body types that are set to certain sliders.

up to you to either wait or convert / add bodyslides for the clothing yourself.

As for the TWB you may need to read the description. Also making sure the top left bars are the body type and preset you wanna use.

Just an FYI, all Vtaw outfits are designed for the CBBE body and work just fine as long as the body proportions are not extreme. There should be no need to adjust them in BodySlide.

In the case of the OP, since he's using TWB, he also needs to install a conversion mod for each and every Vtaw outfit or wardrobe that he's installed.

Without the conversions. the Vtaw outfits will not properly fit TWB since TWB adds new sliders.

Im trying to change the appearance of the nude body, i can manipulate the sliders and it looks good in bodyslide, but when i go in game the body doesnt change.

Yes i made sure i have all the prerequisites for TWB and VTAW, including TWB conversions for VTAW. The proportions of the body are.. generous but not anymore extreme than bodies ive had in the past.

Did you turn on archive invalidation?
DeathKnight117 Jan 10, 2022 @ 6:58pm
idk what that is lol so i guess no
Trehek Jan 10, 2022 @ 7:02pm
The game won't let mods overwrite vanilla assets unless you turn on archive invalidation. You need to add the following lines to Fallout4Custom.ini

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

In my previous post, one of the questions I asked was did you BUILD the body using the preset you created? This is what actually creates the body mesh and puts it into the game. Creating a preset and saving it is just the first step. You need to build the body in BodySlide using your preset as well as ALL vanilla clothing and armor and including all clothing and armor that was added by your mods.

For TWB you need to install the first file and then ONE of the two following ones, depending on whether you have DLC or not. Once you've done that, you need to create your preset and then use it to build your CBBE body and the vanilla outfits and armors. Looking at the author's file list, it looks like he included a Slidergroup file so that will make filtering out the correct slider sets much easier.

You'll need to go through the same process for the Vtaw TWB conversions. Hopefully the author of the conversions included a slidergroup file with his conversion.

Man, IDK why but I always assume people modding their game already know about this. Maybe I shouldn't. Also, Vortex should already do this for you.

Yeah, I think it was in the Vortex settings? Called BSA invalidation, I think? It should add a mod to the vortex list which does it. I use MO2 myself, though. But doing with with the ini file should work too.

Yes im aware of how bodyslide works i have the main TWB file, and the conversion for the vanilla armor and clothes. Same story for Vtaw: main file, TWB conversions, and bodyslides. I hit batch build with build morphs on and it builds, completes, i go into the game and its not changed. Its still a TWB body, but not my preset.

Launch BodySlide, choose "True Wasteland Body" in the upper dropdown and your custom preset in the lower dropdown. Make sure "Build Morphs" is checked on the bottom and hit "Build"

See if that works.
check the mod page or discord pages

probably like 4 other people who have that issue.

One sure way of verifying if the body is actually being built in the correct place is to follow these steps EXACTLY:

1. Navigate to Data/Meshes/Actors/Character/characterassets
In that folder, look for the following two files
FemaleBody.nif
FemaleBody.tri

2. Keep this folder open on your desktop and make note of the dates and times of those two files

3. Launch BodySlide, and follow the directions in my previous post. The dates and times of those two files should immediately update to your current date and time.

If they don't, there's something borked in your TWB install or your BodySlide install. Check your file paths.
