Can't find VIM! POP Factory...
After doing some googling, it looks like its attached to a harbor DLC?

I just purchased Fallout 4, not sure if I have all the DLC's but why would the Brother of Arms give me a quest in a DLC I might not have?

After googling the pop factory is located here which I can't find at all on my map and the Quest is pointing me all the way north west near Nakano Resistance but the Quest Location is off the map, almost like it wants to go even more North...

Any ideas on this?

The quest is from the Brother Hood of steel getting electronics for them, after doing like 10 or 15 runs with them.

The Vim Pop Factory is in Far Harbor, which is a totally different area, just like Nuka World. You will need to follow the questline in order to get there, either the quest Ellie gives you or just by talking to t he Nakanos on your own.

Thanks for the info @SuperSledgeNY,

Well I figured out I do have the far habor DLC...

I'm on a quest line for Brother of Arms, why would i need to start the Nakano Resistance to find the Vim Pop Factory? I'll try to walk off the map like you said with Nuka world to see if that works...

Thank you!

yea that's an annoying thing the game does. there's a mod that keeps radiant quests within the commonwealth

Keep Radiants in the Commonwealth

to see if you have the DLC just click on LIBRARY then right-click on fallout 4 and select PROPERTIES then at the bottom of the menu there it should say DLC as the last option. if not, you don't have them, if so, click it and it should show the DLC you have and whether they are installed or not.

if it's installed just go to the house north of the map border, if it says you can't go that way just follow the invisible fence to the house on the shore. talk to the parents in there and agree to find their daughter. that's how you access far harbor

So I have confirmed I do have the Far Harbor DLC.

I started the Nakano Resistance yet the far harbor is still not opening up like the Nuka World quest started, before the Nuka World Quest started it said can't go in that direction and then once the quest started the whole new Area opened up which isn't happening here.

I'm going to take a video of it on my twitch stream and paste it here to explain more...

The Brother of Arms quest to pick up the electronic part from the VIm Pop Factory just points me to the boat in Nakano's Resistance house yet I can't start the boat up or anything like that...

once you agree to help the nankanos you have to search around for clues as to where their daughter went. there is a picture in the boathouse with a hidden key in it to the safe. unlock the safe to discover that their daughter went to far harbor by boat. mr. nankano will now let you use his boat to follow after his daughter.

the clues are left for you to follow in the form of holotapes you find around the house of her projects

I would consider using the keep radiants mod and going back to a save prior to getting the quest if possible. The FH location you are being sent to is a hard and long road away.

If you just follow the questline like I said in my previous post, you'll get to Far Harbor.
Here is a detailed walk-through on what you need to do in order to unlock Far Harbor

Once you get there, don't expect to head right to the Vim Pop Factory. Far Harbor is a big area that's chock full of interesting places, people and quests. Take your time and enjoy the DLC. The stupid Brotherhood quest can wait.

When I got the quest to go to far harbor for a "haptic" device, I just quit the game and started a new one. I'm not doing all that bull-flop rigmarole to go to the Far Harbor Radiation dump to get someone's computer mouse. The radiation will kill you if you don't have the radiation resistance and ghoul perks.

Yeah, FH can be pretty rough if you don't have enough rad resistance and / or Radaway.

I have more trouble with the toughness of the anglers and gulpers eating up enough ammunition to dispatch them from a safe distance than with the radiation in the Far Harbour DLC.

Both the fog and the frequent radiation barnacles on rocky coastlines are things I can anticipate and avoid (or sprint past for some bits of fog). And in trade, you don't ever suffer from radstorms there (I think they can show up, but you don't take radiation damage from them).

If you are running settlement mods, this is much more likely to happen. It can be very annoying, which is why I usually set up my settlement mods before I start playing, and only activate those in that area (nuka, far harbor) until AFTER having gotten to those locations.

I found a radiation suit that does all the work for me, and you can also buy a radation suit from one of the sellers in Arcadia.

That doesnt work cause the quest is already queued, in fact queued b4 you get 'fire support'. Only for the next quest. Right now only way to cheese is console
