How do you manually transfer food and water to a settlement?
Hi friends,

I've been loving this game, got my first settlement [raiders] going and they are running low on food and water so I'm just going to use console command to give them water and food to hold them over until I have time to build more.

I'm at the work bench but I don't see where I transfer items to the work bench, isn't that how you transfer food and water and building materials or no?

Thank you,

Also anyone who responds to this post I give a reward! I have so many points to use up.

Thanks again!

Raiders as in a raider settlement (in the commonwealth) with the nuka world dlc? Or just rping as a raider settlement?

Also I do not know what you mean by transferring food/water, unless that is some sort of mechanic from the nuka world raider settlement system ( I don't know, I never went that far in the nuka world raider stuff).

But in regular settlements you can't transfer food/water. To get food you can just plant food - go to diamond city and loot their farms and use those crops to start a farm in your settlement. For water you just need some concrete and steel to make simple hand pumps.

Your settlement should be fine without food and water for a while. They'll just complain a bit. I don't really know what happens when happiness gets too low though, but you should be able to fix the problem in a short amount of time.

Food planted in your settlement and water from pumps or generators automatically go into the workbench. Settlers draw whatever they need from the workbench with no outside intervention required from you. As far as I know, you CAN add food and water to the workbench and that will be accessed by the settlers as well. If you have a second settlement and task one of your settlers with linking your 2 settlements, then any food and water produced by either settlement (or both) will automatically be shared by the settlements.

Its a container. It works like every other container. Interact with it to open its inventory, then place the food and water inside.

Yes you can. Food and water placed in the workshop will satisfy settlers needs. You don't have to plant crops or place pumps. (Though you want to, as then you don't have to worry about going back and resupplying them.)

Thanks everyone and the settlement I was talking about is the Nuka Raiders settlement i'm like level 52, just started 1 of the minute man quests and just enjoyed exploring and killing stuff to get xp rather than doing the minute man stuff but I think i'm going to go back and do the minute man quest, its funny even though I killed his men he still is loyal to the code or something so i'm thankful for that because i'll give me so much more content.

Although he did say he hates me and he cannot forgive me, f that guy, I use a robot that is butch as hell hah

Thanks everyone!

LennytheRat,

Do you know to transfer the water/food to the workbench? Can I make a toolbox and it work that way or...? I don't see any option to transfer food/water. Hell maybe there isn't even a console command for food and water I just assumed, but maybe my assumptions are wrong.

LennytheRat, I found it, literately was right in front of my face, now I'm searching for food/water commands in the console which i'll made another thread for...
