either that, or go to your graphics card program settings and set a cap to 60 fps

fallout 4 has to run at 60 FPS or less or you have problems like that. try limiting your FPS using your graphics card settings or use the mod that dot linked is an even better option.

You don't. It sounds like it's not set up correctly. I use that mod and I usually get between 125 - 165 fps.

EDIT : Just check

1) If you have an Nvidia card set the VSync to 'application controlled'

2)Check the mod's ini carefully as it's hard to read.Pay attention to the settings around
fullscreen and borderless mode and ENB settings if you use one.

3) Spend a good amount of time reading that ini as I missed a couple of things the first
time I did it.

Good luck!

bro, it already works if u edit the file and put max. framerate on 60.

Of course it works, but set [Max Framerate] to the max refresh of your monitor if it can go higher than 60.

Yeah, this may be system specific so don't start with blanket statements. I cannot play over 60 even with all the fps mods and settings tweaked in the world, RTX 3070 and 3440 x 1440 monitor 100 Hz...

So many who argue that they are running the game at 100+ eventually admit that is just the refresh of their monitor that their fix was to set the ipresentinterval ini setting to 2 which is what the game does to set the fps to half the monitors vsync so in reality they are running at 50 fps if their monitor is 100 or 62 fps if the monitor is 125 but they will insist the game is running at 100 or 125 fps just because that is their monitors setting.

With dialogue in sync no lockup entering terminals or power armor glitch?

The actual game/steam/graphics overlay reported it as actually running at 200 fps?

No mods etc. that seperated script timing and physics from the game engine?

The games ini setting for dividing the vsync for the fps set to 0
(unlocked) or 1 (be equal to vsync)?

There are a lot of ini settings that can change everything from how many cells are loaded to a lot of other things that improve the game if one has a CPU and GPU combo that can work together but the tie in for timing scripts and physics is coded into the game engine hardware does not change this only a few mods have been made that will improve this.

High FPS Physics Fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798

and

Baka ScrapHeap - Script Memory Limit Expander
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/46340

Have been reportedly used together to allow the game to run faster I do not have the hardware to actually test this running my game with unrestricted fps will vary between 90fps in certain game areas with lots of issues like bouncing off a terminal instead of activating it and dialogue out of sync etc. to 320+ ish fps during load screens, menus, lockpicking resulting in the picks breaking instantly and menus being unusable.

When I locked the fps to 75 the dialogue was closer but still out of sync and almost every terminal locked up with my character bouncing off of them and entering power armor would sometimes register twice resulting in the power armor glitch where the player is not switctched to the power armor race making it look weird and the game thinks we are not wearing any power armor. I did not try any of this after installing or using the mods I listed above so not sure if they will change things.

A lot of people fail to understand that even if they have the same CPU and GPU as your system the system board can cause bottlenecks that actually reduce performance.

I am not saying everyone who claims they are running the game faster than 60 fps without bugs are mistaken but there are a lot of them like the one I mentioned that went on for pages insisting they were running the game at 125 fps before finally admiting they had the games ini setting set to 2 actually dividing their 125 vsync in half meaning the game was actully running around 62 fps max.

Yep, people fail to understand higher FPS means less script processing time. Sooner or later scripts start creating a backlog.
