I bought a power armor frame from the Atom Cats. Where the heck is it?

Hey everyone. I bought a power armor frame from the Atom Cats and I suppose I should have been more careful about it when it say "power armor frame removed from inventory". But I just went on with my day assuming that when I came to build one it would be there in the workshop. But it isn't.

Where the heck is it?

Frames appear at the power armor workbench of the shop you buy it from. In the case of the Atom Cats garage, it appears outside. At least according to the wiki. I've never felt the need to purchase a frame, as they can be found for free all over the place.

I dont know about 'all over the place' but if you go to a place with a guy in power armor like Dunwich borers and you get behind the guy in power armor and sniper his fusion core, he'll exit his suit getting you a frame.

I normally don't loot the frames because they are a bother and there are far more than I need

There are at least 29 unowned suits across the map, plus at least another 19 that can be taken if you remove the person first. 48 suits spread across the map, which really isn't that big. With the exception of the northeast corner, the area immediately surrounding Diamond City and stretching southwest, you are never that far from a suit.

The northwest corner of the map where you start has 5 (Concord, S of Drumlin Diner, E of robot disposal, E of Tenpines Bluff, W of Covenant). 2 of those are just out in the open, 2 are locked up, and 1 is part of a quest. Going a little farther adds at least 4 more (Federal Ration Stockpile, 2 raiders in Lexington, and Outpost Zimonja).

The notice was probably because it put the "power armour frame" note you bought into your inventory, then removed it immediately when it spawned the frame into the nearby game world as a separated item.

It telling you it was removed is just a side-effect of the "power armour frame" note being used to represent the frame you're buying.

Atom Cats places your purchased frame right outside the garage.
BoS puts it nearby your bay.

Thanks everyone. When you say the power armor frame appears outside the garage, what does it look like? Is it like a blueprint or something? i'm pretty sure I would have noticed if the frame itself was there.

Yeah, it's an empty frame with no pieces. I just bought one and it appeared literally right outside the garage doorway where I bought it.

I'm not sure what happens if there's already one sitting there or if the spot is blocked.

One of the things that's particularly annoying with power armour frames is that. despite an unoccupied frame being essentially a bit of furniture (in terms of game mechanics), they don't allow you to select and move them freely in build mode.

Although I've collected plenty of power armour frames, moving them around in a settlement is always a hassle.

Sorry everyone, I meant the other type of frame. The yellow thing you use to repair and modify your power armor. That kind of frame.

Thats the power armor workbench, not a frame. Like all the other workbenches, that can be crafted in a settlement once you have the Local Leader 2 perk.

Thats the power armor workbench, not a frame. Like all the other workbenches, that can be crafted in a settlement once you have the Local Leader 2 perk.

Note also that you can't buy one anywhere, nor any other kind of crafting workbench. Vendors don't sell settlement objects like that.

At least you now know why you couldn't find what you bought.

Funnily enough, I found a way I could avoid building workbenches just recently after getting Grid World when it was a free sample on the Creation Club, since you can use the VR workbenches inside the virtual world if you manage to bring all the materials and whatnot in with you (companions can come inside as well).

I bought one from the atom cats but it wasn't considered mine for whatever reason

I bought that frame myself before. It stands right outside garage.
It may have been marked "owned " before. But now that u bought it its not. so check the same frame if that mad eu hesitate to pick it up, (dont remember it 100%)
