I can't fight radroaches
So I kinda have a phobia of bugs irl and everytime I see a radroach I just run and avoid them. The thing is, I'm playing the Nuka-Cola dlc and there are some radroaches in the "dungeon". This might sound stupid but how do I avoid them? I need to pull some things for the radiation to stop but there are so many radroaches in there and there's even a legendary one. It's DISGUSTING. Any help would be appreciated.

Melee ability. I just let them come to me and mash them to a paste.

There's a replacer mod for people with different phobias. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44814
Might be worth a try.

one of your very first missions, when you find the abernathy's farm and Mr Abs sends you after his dead daughter's locket, that had a bunch of them, including a legendary one... how did you handle that? Long before you are high enough level to even know Nuka-World exists...

lots of people have bug phobias, and it truly bothers you that much, there are plenty of "delete" mods for the dragonflies, the "I won't kill dogs even virtual ones" types, and of course https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3291

(BTW there's a similar issue with Skyrim and people with spider phobias.)

I would instead tell you to just try. 1) they're not real, keep telling yourself this. And 2 just look at them, they are not intimidating or scary, it's not something to have a phobia over. But that's why it's a phobia, it doesn't need to make logical sense! You can use this as immersion therapy. It's just a dumb bug, why be afraid of it? It's not even poisonous.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate roaches, too, but the ones in Fallout 4 have some sort of "cartoon" look to them. You should've seen the ones in Fallout 3...

If you have a companion or two I would just leave it to them. It actually would be awesome if you could add phobias to your actual characters like you could in Daggerfall. It was pretty much a damage debuff although I think it might of increased the chance of spells fizzling too.

Most of us just grab the locket and leave we only encounter them if we open those doors by the toolbox and enter that last room.

With any luck that replacer mod will help.

That is where the key to the sealed door is though so if you can't hack the terminal you have to get the key if you want all the goodies inside.

Yeah and besides that's total BS anyway, you wouldn't KNOW what's inside and it's a game of exploration, you got the locket and there's double-doors right in front of you? You already killed the crazy minigun chick? No, you're opening those doors. 100%. Don't even...

Radroaches are literally the first enemy you encounter in the game. How did you deal with them in vault 111?

Fat Man is your friend.
(and maybe your worst enemy).

execpt people focused on finishing a mission do not always explore the place completely. While I will admit I probably should of said many of us instead of most.
