Best way to hide armor (FO76-ish)?
I used to use the Concealed Armors mod last I played, but it was last updated in 2015 and has some issues.
Is there some better way to do this now? I'm not having luck with Nexus searches, but that's probably due to not being able to figure out the right terms to search for.

Best would be FO76's system, of course, but I wouldn't think anybody's managed to implement that in a way that also works for mod outfits.

If you are okay with mods try ECO - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55503

"Make individual armour and headgear pieces invisible (except helmets and hats for technical reasons). At the Armor Workbench, you'll get an additional menu called "AA: Armor Appearance" that holds this option. You can also revert that change by making the armour visible again within the same menu."

heh. Pookie101's response made me try some new search terms and I was just reading the ECO page when you replied. Thank you. That seems like it might do the trick, and more besides.

I used Armor and Clothing Overhaul for a while, it's basically the same as Armorsmith extended without the horrible AWKCR dependency, and you can turn individual armor pieces invisible, among other options. I do recommend

ah, I found that too, but the page says ECO is the successor to it, which is how I found ECO.
I gather the mod author rolled several of their mods, including ACO, into ECO (and has apparently stopped updating those individual mods too).

Thanks.

Yeah the ACO was great.
Looks like the ACO creator moved on to the next version would be ECO
ACO's successor got released: Equipment and Crafting Overhaul (ECO)
There won't be any further updates to the standalone version of ACO. Development continues on ECO's page.
ECO

All that means is the mod creator created a newer and better version and is not going to waste time on the older version.

Just wanted to return to this thread to say thanks for pointing me to ECO. It's really a very nice mod and so far works without any issues at all, even with the fairly diverse mods I use.

Long ago, I had noticed I would usually find Power Armor scattered about Sanctuary.
If you give them enough defenses, the settlers won't borrow your armor.
If you take out the fusion core, the settlers can't borrow your armor.
