Sound effects missing?

Shooting, reloading, opening doors etc, nothing makes any sound, however, if i pause the game or open the pipboy, it'll play the sound of the last gun related action, eg firing a shot, reloading, etc. Dafuq? This only started after installing some texture mods, guns worked fine for the first part of the playthrough

I fixed it in the end, apparently deleting a texture mod also deleted all sound effects :/

Do any texture mods count? Or just ones that change the base game?

I think I deleted a few mods but none were texture mods from the game itself, just a retexture of a mod item.

As simple as it is, restarting the game has solved the problem for me.
