It's what the games have shown us as direct evidence of Prime's abilities. You can believe something contrary to the observed evidence if you like.

The square root cubed law should be valid in the world of Fallout 4. Liberty Prime is about 10 times the height of a man. Its mass, disregarding armor will be 10^3 or 1,000 times the mass of a man. Its footprint is only 10^2 or 100 times the area of a mans. Thus its foot loading is 1,000/100 or 10 x the loading of a man. This means it will tear up asphault hiway as it walks down it. Its legs will sink up to knee depth every time it steps onto normal ground. And if it tries to bypass bridges by walking across a muddy river bottom, it will sink out of sight in the mud, much like a man stepping in quicksand. There will only be a few possible routes it can take to get to the Institute, and the Institute will know every on of them.

It will mine every bridge it MUST use, destroy EVERY highway it must walk down. In short its own size will work against it. It will NOT be able to reach its own target. It will most likely be tangled in the ruins of the first bridge it tries to cross. Bigger is NOT necessarily better, kids.

Distribution of mass?

funny how you are actually trying to defend something indefensible. Whatever, I am going to watch liberty prime being squashed by the prydwen and laugh at your make-believe stories.

We've seen Prime walking in-game. Exactly how it's achieved is unknown, but arguing with observable evidence is folly.

As far as the Prydwen goes, it's not clear whether Prime is actually destroyed by it, or if he's just buried, since we don't get to see any broken pieces of him.

Like I said. You can make yourself believe whatever is necessary to be happy. Good luck ;)

And good luck to you, believing something that isn't supported by the evidence.

If Libert Prime was built as a very large tank (about a 100 ton tank) and used treads instead of feet, a lot of those difficulties would disappear. The treads would have much more area than a couple of feet. Tread loading would be much lighter than feet loading. It would still be liable to having a tread blown off by an anti tank land mine. And replacing that tread under heavy fire would be a nightmare.

In the real world armed forces bigger is very often not better.

True, but there are obviously a few additional rules at play in the Fallout universe.

For example, try to explain how a Mr Handy manages to fly.

Hot air.
This whole discussion is pretty stupid. Obviously Liberty Prime wouldn't be very useful in a conventional war, he was built as a propaganda tool to inspire the troops in Alaska.
However, since all the old nations and their militaries are gone, there are not many things left that could stand up to a giant nuke-throwing robot with laser-eyes.
Arguing about weight distribution etc. in a videogame (especially Fallout) is completely pointless.
Fallout has always chosen the rule of cool over realism.

@big stupid jellyfish: LP is meant to impress the new target audience of four year old toddlers over its original target audience of 17+ year olds.

Im pretty sure its suppose to make the game(s) more fun as it takes place in a FICTIONAL WORLD.

Why would the Fallout 4 audience be any different than the F3 one? Both games are pretty similar. I don't get what you're trying to say here.
