How to Lock the Load order

I keep having to put mods back in to place where they work, I am sure its Win. Moving them for what ever reason. There use to be a function to lock the lode order but not any more. How can I keep the little rascles where I put them?

the plugins.txt file is located in AppData\Local\Fallout4.

You can always set it to read only. Note you should review it for proper order. It does NOT contain entries for the DLC or CC (I am unssure about CC as I never used them), I assume DLC and CC are listed in the DLClist.txt.

Now I am starting to wonder if I have been modifying the wrong file all these years....wondering how much of my life has been a lie.

Use a mod manager like MO2 and no more worries.
