One thing I can think of is ballistic weave, but you have to work up to it.

that is a ballistic wave. it has 5 tiers. Completing Railroad quests will provide the ability to apply ballistic wave to particular clothes, but tiers depend of "armorer" perks.

Deliverer, the best pistol in the game. Silenced, uses 10mm rounds. You can stack more than 10 shots in VATS. I think you get it after completing the first mission (with Deacon).

Ballistic Weave. You have to do a few (2 or 3) sidequests where you have to recover "DiA caches". You can now customize almost every clothing item in the game. What's better is that you can even customize stuff that you wear below the normal armor pieces. I think the maximum defense given by Ballistic Weave is 110 ballistic/110 energy.

IIRC, it gives 93 ballistic defense and 150 energy defense. Ballistic Weave Mk 5 gives 110 on both.

Ballistic your weave then just kill them all off

The rating on weave is divided over the entire outfit. A hat has one slot. Tuxedo has five.

Ballistic weave and the Deliverer pistol are both available before you reach a point of no return, so can be acquired for characters of any faction (provided you do it early enough).

The ability for legendary railway rifles to randomly drop from enemies requires completing Underground Undercover and starting Precipice of War, and I'm not familiar enough with those to know where they fall in the quest chain.

And I think thats all the special stuff the Railroad can give you.

You'll get a train set.

Seriously, stop asking what the rewards are. It is the journey and not the destination that matters. You might as well be asking what you get for ending the game. If you then do not already know why you want to join the Railroad and wonder about rewards then you already have your answer. There is no single reward so great that it would force you to choose them over the others.

But read the wiki and read every single quest, every detail you can find, before you continue to play the game when knowing the rewards ahead of time means this much to you.

Deliverer , Ballistic Weave , Railway Rifle added to Legendary drops.

Tho the last one is not worth it at all you unlock this global value way too deep in Railroad questline and you are still at mercy of RNG. Just wanted to point it out that it's a thing cause Railway Rifle normally is excluded from Legendary weapons drop list and not many know about this hidden "reward".

Ballistic Wave however is very worth it unless you are doing a PA playthrough.
Deliverer is OP for VATS pistol builds.

LOL no.
Railroad does almost as much if not more damage to both Synths and "civilians" than Institute does.

Regarding the legendary railway rifles, those don't require you to finish Underground Undercover entirely, as the step just before finishing it unlocks them (supplying the synths with weapons and informing Desdemona about it).

I know this from experience with my main character, who sided with the Institute and owns a Two Shot railway rifle I named "Nidhogg".

Interesting i don't remember however if going that far doesn't screw up relationships with Institute or even BoS and if i can still do "Spoils of War" for BoS.

I usually do the Peace between all factions (except Institute) ending.

As I recall, you have to go right up until the very last step of Underground Undercover (and maybe even start conversation with Desdemona about the Institute attacking them without committing to helping them). That would put it beyond the Mass Fusion/Spoils of War split and make it an Institute-only thing.

I did it with my main character without even realizing it at the time just because I was hedging my bets until the last moment.

Hmm.
I guess it's easier to just make a quick xEdit to add the Railway rifle to the possible Legendary drop list like i did on my last modded playthrough.

Or use the command to force enable that global value like it's shown on wiki.
