Triggerman shoots at me. Diamond City Security does nothing

So I told Malcom Latimer that I killed his son. So now every once in a while, I have a "Triggerman" character in Diamond City who appears and tries to shoot at me. I don't want to tick-off Diamond City so I do nothing. Run over to the nearest security guy and crouch down while the Triggerman shoots at me. Diamond City Security does nothing until I return fire. Then the whole town tries to kill me.

So is that my only option? I kill the Triggerman, run away and stay away for a few days until Diamond City decides I'm OK again?

you can remove the triggerman from diamond city faction with the console then should be able too kill them or add them too raider faction then they be killed.

I'm confused, you should be fine to kill them if they start fighting you.

From the wiki.....If the player character admits to the murder and then passes a persuasion check, Malcom will not do either of the above and the player character will gain affinity from Piper, Curie, Codsworth, Nick Valentine, Danse and Preston, but lose affinity with Cait and MacCready. If the aforementioned persuasion check is failed, Malcolm will periodically send Triggermen after the player character.

So the key is to save and then make sure to pass the speech test.

Oh I wanted Latimer to send them after me (because it's easy to be "tough" in a video game ;-) ). I just was surprised that Diamond City Security was not at all ruffled by them shooting at me but very upset at me returning fire.

First two times, I had to run away. Third time, nobody reacted at all. Maybe I accidentally shot someone the first 2 times. Not sure

go on the roof of your diamond city home use a stealth boy and a silenced sniper rifle and kill him.so he can't hire any killers.

If you hit anyone even out of view they will all attack though I think the triggerman being shot should not cause them to be hostile.

Did the triggerman hit the security guy while shooting at you I think some people reported occasionally the game blames the player for that.
