i''m not on survival and when i have nothing on it's the same
that's the thing i had no buffs or debuffs or clothing on when i tested!
I'm not even sure what this means or what you did but you almost certainly screwed it up yourself.
Why would you even do this? Did you reload to saves before you screwed with the console or just assumed you couldn't do permanent damage and baked it right into your save?
player.modav perception "number you desire, in my case my default was 5 so I wrote 5"
The setav command sets the base perception or other stat while the modav command changes the stat by adding the number used in this case I would suggest 1 as the fix came from someone who actually had -1 as their bugged perception and you stated yours is just one below what it should be. Though you may need to do the setav back to 5 if not reloading a save before trying the negative numbers.
When trying to fix a bug like
"what happens is My perk chart says i have 5 Perception, but my pip boy says i have 4, 1 less then i actually do
when i use console commands player.setav perception 5, it stays at 4 on the pip boy"
where setav fails the only option is modav which the game actually uses itself on the specials as part of its debuff effects and is possibly why the bug exists one of these failed to reset to the base stat when it wore off leaving a permanent modav of -1 or subtract one from the perception stat.
Still, once you FUBAR your stats with the console there is often no simple solution.
The bug was stated as the perk chart showing 5 while the stats show only 4 this usually means that a debuf of -1 did not proprly return the perception to its base stat of 5.
modav does not change the perk chart it changes the currant actual perception shown in the stats window of the pipboy.
So the command player.modav perception 1 will make the stats match the perk chart displaying 5
I will agree that if not done carefully and within the base stats range of 1 to 10 one can cause all sorts of issues I recall one thread where someone tried to set a special to something like 999 and that defiantly did.
yes i did reload after it didn't work
so doing modav will be safe to fix the issue? as logn as i don't go over 10?
i know i don;t have a debuff though,, i checked and made sure before doing any of that and when i did i restored a save before i edited anything in consoles
No. For, you see, according to Master Ryûken : "Power without perception is virtually useless and therefore of no true value!"
Good luck in the Wasteland, hero.
