Since my last post , I've found 1 in a 'fridge and 1 on a Gunner at Gunner Plaza plus 2 I somehow picked up without realising it you just have to look for ''em , some there out in open waiting to be picked .

The collateral damage from nukes is insane. You'll blow loot and scrap and possibly quest items all over the place.
isn't loot undestroyable?
ive killed stuff with explosives and not a single item disappeared

You can't destroy it. But you can send it flying, making it rather hard to collect. Assuming it doesn't glitch through the ground or fall behind something.

Then I don't see any problem
Items do not jump from dead enemy's pockets and fly away if he explodes

The fatman is only really about gimmicky fun, its not a very useful weapon so you aren't missing much.

+1

When I 1st started playing F4 I thought it was a top weapon also. You get a good price for a fatman and the nukes.

I would much rather find more nuke grenades then the fatman.

I have fun with the fatman when on high buildings, other then that it's pretty useless and does spread scrap everywhere. Also, only has limited affects on certain creatures.

There is more loot than just what is on bodies. And bodies fly away as well.

but somehow i still find and loot them lol
Aside from ammo being very rare the fatman has a laundry list of other drawbacks,

It weighs a ton (it's ammo too on survival),
The huge explosion risks collateral damage or self destruction limiting where it can be used, As already mentioned, this can also cause loot to be lost.
The potential for the shell to be hit in flight (by bullets, explosions or walls) makes it even more dangerous,
The firing arc is awkward to aim and limits he weapons range,
Damage from explosions can be blocked by random obstacles such as fences or uneven terrain reducing its reliability,
The main perk that increases its damage is the weakest gun perk of all (Heavy Gunner),
The MIRV upgrade reduces the range further
As explosives can't benefit from sneak attack, crit or headshot boosts other weapons can challenge them more successfully than you would expect.

It still hits hard, but its defining quality is its sheer impracticality.

Go to Fallon's department store near the hospital and subway. The mini nukes have these green delivery boys. You can collect three of them if you're quick.

Well you know it is a very situational weapon
It's very useful against huge monsters and big crowds of armored enemies at distance
If say 5 heavily armored mutants are staying close to each other no other weapon besides nuke launcher can 1-tap all of them
Or if you e.g. run into a mini boss it takes about 1-2 nukes to get rid of it
Or you can shoot it with other guna for eternity
Dude, the MIRV is incredibly good upgrade
Yes it decreases range but it 1-taps ANY SINGLE CREATURE in the game
This thingy is insanely powerful and very underestimated

NOT A VERY USEFUL WEAPON???
dude are you sure a a mini nuclear bomb(with about I think 20m explosion radius) launcher that kills a deathclaw in 1-2 shots is a not very useful weapon?
If you have all perks, and the double shot one it kills everything with one shot, yourself included if you are not carefull

Then just be careful?lol
Do not fire at something point blank,be sure the target is over 20-30m away and boom...target is dead as well as everything around it
You don't throw grendaes and molotovs at something close to you right?

Better Manufacturing and Manufacturing Extended are great mods that add additional content to the contraptions DLC AND allows you to craft all the ammos available in game, in the Ammo Forge, baring you have the appropriate Perks.
There's more to it.

Weaponsmith Extended[www.nexusmods.com]. Provided you have the perks and adequate resources, you can craft Mini Nukes at the Ammunition/Explosives workbench. There's also the P.A.C. (Professional Ammo Crafting)[www.nexusmods.com] that has the same thing WSE can do, but focused on ammunition crafting, and have no other "craps" WSE has.

Other than that... uh... buy from the gun vendors? You need adequate amount of caps for 'em. Or search for 'em?
