Something you might have missed in Fallout 4 (Spoilers for main quest and a side quest)
Hello!

Welcome, if you have not at least completed the first few story quests and have not explored alot, please for your own sake STOP READING and go explore and stuff!

Now that that's out of the way, I can speak to those of you who are left!

It happened a few days ago, while I was in Diamond City I had stopped by the Diamond City Radio shack for the first time on my new save. Then I went to the Dugout Inn to meet the Boborov Brothers. After Vadim had finished telling his story I left and walked around the market for awhile. As I was walking around I had passed by a DC guard who said that the Boborov Brothers had been looking for me (this is the start of the "Confidence Man" side-quest).

I then went back to the inn and Vadim and Yefim told me about their plan to help Travis be more confident. After the staged bar-fight, Travis had left the inn, now more confident than I have ever seen him. Vadim then told me to go and convince the waitress at the inn to go pay a visit to Travis since he likes her and she likes him. After I told her to go visit him, I returned to the inn to have Yefim tell me that Vadim had failed to pay the guys he hired for the staged bar-fight and that they had taken him away.

I asked Travis if he might know where they could've taken Vadim, so Travis and I were off to the Beantown Brewery where they were keeping Vadim.

Now before I continue I have to explain a bit of what I had done before this quest or entering the brewery.

I had gone to the Federal Ration Stockpile and killed a raider there named Red. She wasn't that tough, even on very hard difficulty, mostly because I was already at a high level and had alot of perks. I explored a bit and found three letters on the table next to where Red hangs out. All of the three letters were addressed to her, and was from her sister. The first letter was her sister Lily telling Red that she had been kidnapped by Tower Tom and his gang of raiders, and that if Red doesn't send food to Tower Tom that he was going to kill her. After reading all the letters I logged on to Red's terminal and read through the entries on it.

Red was very worried that her sister was missing and after she had gotten the first letter from her sister, became furious with Tower Tom. Then like a week or so later she received two more letters from her sister, but she noticed something was off about the last two letters, Red knew that her sister knows that Red hates the name Red and therefore started getting suspicious and started hiring more gang members to go and raid Tower Tom. Her last entry was a very recent one, in fact it was just as I entered the stockpile. The entry explains how someone had gotten past all her raider gang members and she was going to kill whoever it was.

Now for the other part!

I had gotten bored after killing Red, so I decided to go clear out the inside of the Corvega Plant. The leader of the raider gang inside was called Jerry. I had entered through a drainage pipe and killed the two raiders and the turret defending the entrance. I read through a bunch of terminal entries that stated that Jerry was obsessed with figuring out "the sight" and that the other raiders thought he was wasting his time. After killing Jerry and his other gang members, I read through his terminal entries. After reading all of his entries I had learned that he was searching for "an old lady in fortune-teller clothes" who had this weird "power" called "the sight" which is activated by using chems, she then uses this power to "predict" coming events or the destiny of others. The reason Jerry was searching for her is that he had met her when he was younger and she had foretold upon him that he has a very bad future, that he was going to become a very horrible person. Jerry, after not being able to find her again, started doing alot of chems himself in the hopes that he too could gain the power of "the sight". He soon realised it wasn't working on him, so he got test subjects to see if they had "the sight" after using alot of chems, of-course all of the test subject turned out as flukes and all died of overdoses on chems. A later terminal entry states that another raider called Grizzle had spotted a caravan of people. Some of the people in the caravan he described were "a guy in a weird cowboy hat" and "an old lady in fortune-teller clothes". Jerry knew that this was the old lady he had met when he was younger, so he ordered Grizzle to follow the caravan and retrieve the old lady and bring him "that weird cowboy's hat". Jerry never got to see the old lady again as he had gotten a report that Grizzle and his group were killed in Concord.

Now that we are all caught up, we can continue to the Beantown Brewery!

Anyway, as Travis and I entered through the front doors of the brewery, we encountered three raiders guarding the entrance. I quickly dispatched of the three guards and headed upstairs to where they were keeping Vadim. Bull and his gang had been keeping Vadim hostage. Travis and I killed all the raiders and he got to kill Bull. We rescued Vadim and the quest was complete.

Now here is the good part for me, the thing I found nice.

Tower Tom wasn't at the brewery anymore as Bull and his gang were there, but Tower Tom's terminal was still there. So naturally I logged on to his terminal and read all the entries on it. I had found out about his side of the conflict between him and Red. He had tried to raid the Stockpile where Red and her sister were, but he lost too many men and retreated with some hostages. Among those hostages he recognised one of them as being Red's sister Lily. The brewery had plenty of beer for his gang but they soon ran out of food and some of the members threatened to leave if they didn't get food, fast. Tom was very concerned about the food situation and didn't want to lose any of his men, because they weren't the biggest gang, so he forced Lily to write a letter to her sister asking for food, otherwise Tom was going to kill Lily. Tom had gotten what he and the rest of his men had needed, food, and it was good. But one night Lily tried to kill Tom in his sleep, but Tom woke up. Tom thought he was aiming at her Lily's leg but had hit a lethal shot by accident and killed her. He had to hide the body in the brew dispenser so no-one would find it, not even his own members could know, he thought that his men wouldn't notice a change in the beer because they are too drunk.

After Lily died Tom decided he was going to send Red more letters demanding food as Lily. Another entry said that someone had killed Red and so he sent some men over to the Stockpile to confirm and hope that the killer hadn't set up camp there, fortunately for his men and for him, there was no sign of the person that killed Red.

Then another entry says that Jerry and his squad had been killed as-well. Tom started to get worried and set up more defences in the hopes that whomever is offing all the others won't get to him next.

Unfortunately I did not get the chance to kill Tower Tom yet, but I might soon!

Anyway that was one detail I really liked in the game, and I must say, honestly, those three raiders are the most interesting raiders I have ever seen in all my many hours of playing Fallout 4.

I hope you enjoyed that little story and I hope you have a great day and a great life!
