I didn't say the Nexus was the only place to get mods. However, you don't actually NEED anywhere else. All of my mod lists contain only mods (hundreds of them) from the Nexus. 2000 hours between all my Bethesda RPGs and I've never needed another website for my mods. If you want to go to less reputable locations for mods, that's your risk to take.

You're describing things people need to be personally aware of. Your AV won't stop most phishing attempts, for instance. You just have to know not to send that e-mail back to the African Prince with your bank account information.

Are you also on the Chinese release version of Fallout 4? That may actually be your issue. I noticed your profile states Taiwan, and that's in the geographical area.

You can try change your Fallout 4 language to English, it may help you.

Hey guys, ok, ok,,, so I am having the same issue. First I want to address the argument that happened, as its funny and I just want to- The current version as of today via Bethesda website on 9/7/22 is- Fallout 4: 1.10. 75.0 Update | Bethesda.net.Feb 8, 2022. At the time of the posts Peon had the most outdated version of them all and was even farther behind than any of us. Which is kind of funny. But,,, I think,,, it is possible that the download cache needed to be cleared as one of the prior guys stated in this post. But,,, the problem is that we didnt reinstall the game after clearing that cache. You may be able to remedy this by changing the setting to update on launch. But, I would suggest just reinstalling it after clearing the game cache in downloads section of properties of Fallout. I haven't tried this yet, but following the conversation I could tell none of us had reinstalled the game after clearing steams download cache. I can't believe they dont have a manual install or download for the update on Bethesda. I flipping hate programmers. I swear. I have my entire game completely customized all the way into the .ini files and a complete reinstallation would mean 48 hours of work for me at a minimum. This better flipping work. And of course, the support links for Bethesda dont work at all. Then Steams support literally just sends you to Bethesda support. Ugh.... Anyway, so, clear STEAMS game cache in properties>downloads. Uninstall the game. Reinstall the game. Check the .exe, (google the location default to find it.) right click .exe > properties > Details tab > Version number should be there. If it didn't work lets storm Bethesda HQ and get some answers.

Update, it didn't work. Ugh.... Finally after spending all night attempting to get support from Bethesda I was able to figure out a way to. Have been passed through 3 different tiers of techs so far with no mention of anything they think it might be. Which, I find odd. The versions of the game should be common knowledge for them I would think since they built it. lol. I will update when I know more.

Either you're lying about your version, or several years behind becuase 1.10.40 was released November 2017 on all platforms. It's the most recent update, with a new one coming this year (some minor CC patches have been released as well).

It's most likely he's using an outdated F4SE/ MCM, but he asked how to update the game. If not this then he's done something to his Steam client, or this post is just bait.

In past year i did quit for longtime fallout 4, now install anew i have same issue he. saying i got only version 1.9.4. Nothing is fix this i try verify, newly again installation, fo4se is newest, and steam SAY my game newest version yet it is not. Time for permanent giveup on fallout i think :(
