How to fail 'Semper Invicta'?

I want the Guns&Bullets in cambridge police, but I dont want to join the BoS. The obvious solution is killing the whole bunch, is there a less violent solution?

nope, join them, trust me, if you pickpocket a core out of power armor, the knight will leave the armor and you can take it, and Teagan sells good stuff

You know, if I shoot the core the knight will also leave the PA -kinda- and I get the XP.

Anyways, I cursed at the quest design of FO4 (again), joined them and I'll ignore them until I'll blow their stupid balloon up.

From what i recall. It fails automatically once you board Prydwen with Danse without helping either of these two.

It doesn't fail if you board the Prydwen without helping them, it just remains as an active quest. Also no, there's no way of getting into the police station to get that issue of Guns & Bullets unless you help Danse or make the BoS hostile through later story quests from the Railroad.

That or cheat your way in, but that isn't what you asked.

Yeah...figures...I hard-saved & tried various scenarios, even after Kellogs, the police station is still sieged by ghouls.
In hindsight, I should have waited till I hostiled them, those 5% crit are insignificant with better crits and booblehead..oh well,

Hmm anyway i am sure it does at certain point stop being an active quest. Cause i had it moved to completed/failed quest tab yet i didnt help these 2 with their side quests at all or pissed of BOS or any of the factions or even completed the main story.

AFAIK the magazine appears after the Prydwen arrives and the Police station gets redecorated.

All you need to do to get inside the station is stand and watch while they shoot the ghouls, and possibly defend yourself if necessary. That's not helping so it won't make you a enabler of fascists.

No, tried it, as long as 'Semper Invicta' is active. the mag isnt there. Wiki says the same btw.

you're gonna be mad when you realize the prydwen has some useful items same with the BoS missions. It's the game's way to tell you to partake in all factions to get some much needed collectibles.

You can also download a mod that just puts them all in one spot (forgot the name but it's mostly the ones you need to do stuff like the medical journal in the sanitorium for the Cabot quest)

lastly there's the console command to spawn it in your inventory the issue number.
