What DLC's are best for base building?
I am about to get this game and I am really exicted for base building but didnt know if any of the DLC's help with that.

Basically everything except Far Harbor. Automatron adds robots. Contraptions add contraptions. Nuka world adds raider stuff. Vault tec adds a vault and some more items. Etc. Plus a lot of handy mods that ad stuff.

I like mods as much as anyone but pro DLC is the best. When its something thats actually wanted.

Well you can use mods in lieu of DLC but I personally enjoy the DLC. You wont get everything of course if its just mods.

Well I have $5 in my wallet right now. Which $5 DLC would be the best for the building to start with?

Workshop probably. Theres no missions or anything though. If you can swing for automatron thats would be my preference.

You should watch video showcases for all the different dlc (or those that interest you) to see what they actually add to the game.
