Sentrybot AI Bug/Glitch.
I'm encountering this bug/glitch with every sentrybot I encounter randomly where the robot does nothing.. is just there. video: https://youtu.be/k55Y1iitOhI

Sometimes I encounter Rust Devils with Sentrybots an those sentrybots work just fine, they shoot and run... and what not. Even when the Rust Devils are like repairing a broken sentrybot, when I shoot or other enemy factions goes near the sentrybot goes back online and start doing his thing.

Anyone has encounter this? If so can someone point me in the right direction to what the cause might be and how to fix it if possible? Thanks.

Any mods in use? If so try disabling them and see if that helps.

it's just that one not been switched on, you can kill it n loot it, if you have robotic perk you can start it.

No fix then.. probably a bug on the Automatron DLC. Anyways is not game breaking. looks I will have to deal with it and carry on.

I find them now and then, it doesn't feel like a bug.

Maybe just decommisioned Sentry Bots, or maybe their fusion cells just ran out.

hmm. never thought it that way. Since I never had saw an inactive robot, except when scripted like the one in the robotics disposal ground. or the protectrons inside their... capsule? station?. which the player can activate using a terminal. :steamhappy:

Honestly I do not think that is a bug, since I have ran into a lot of those. One Example, Near Fort Hagen to the right of the Radio Tower. I saw an inactive sentry bot and some rust devils working on it. So my assumption is that the other ones that you run into that are by themselves turned off could have been that some thing else came along and killed off the Rust Devils or they left it behind. You will find them at times as well near other destroyed bots too and according to the wiki, the Rust Devils go around capturing,reprogramming, or getting parts from other bots.

Also if you were to have the Robotics Expert Rank1 perk you can turn them back on. Which of course when you do that, they will attack you (Unless you have Rank 2 or 3).

That alone makes me believe they are not a bug but simply the Sentry bot is just deactivated.

Who knows, but this is all just from my experience.

This is just a random event, Rust Devils are trying to salvage the bot, and if you shoot it, it will boot and attack

There is another Random event where a Leveled Sentry bot is unattended and will not attack even if you shoot it multiple times. But these things happen at random event locations, so I assume it's supposed to work like that.

No these sentry bots are definately not functional.

It isn't a bug, it's an event.
You'll see the rust devils are scrapping it.
If you shoot the bot it will come online and kill them.

The event where Rust Devils are scrapping or reparing a sentrybot works fine for me, When I attack them the sentrybot becomes active and start shooting at everyone including the rust devils.

Only When I encounter a random sentrybot alone, (no Rust devils on the area) like the one on the video, they always appear to be deactivated or as I tought... AI Bugged since the red light in their faces is on and it staggers when shot at. They just stand there... to be killed and looted.

Before Automatron DLC I remember to encounter them wandering around just looking for trouble.:steamhappy:

I haven't finished the Automatron DLC yet. so as some of you had point out, maybe is an event after all and not a bug as I tought.
