- leave 8 settlement totall empty, already unlock those.
- Prebuild those what is already populated to MAX (25 settlers, 4 shops and over 100 Food).
- Did not go Condor, Preston is rotting there with rest group.
Perks are good. Some unique/legendary weapons Overpowered. Easy to collect money in one box. Unlimited Jet and Psycho those vending machines...
Preston hate me and I dont have artillery (If you do minutemen quest before plant any Raider Flag in Commonwealth, you can have Artillery. Artillery can be builded in EMPTY UNLOCKED settlement. Raiders can operate artillery At least when I did first playthru in release week).
Preston will still handle minutemen quests but he will not be your friend that has a another settlement that needs help
I think it's worth it because it shows Preston's true colors.
He's on such a high horse that everybody who's with him is good, and everybody who's against him is absolute evil.
Going raider isnt a legitimate choice in the narrative and should not have been nearly forced with Nuka World. Its obscene.
The Institute is not a good choice either but there are real alternatives. Nuka World has a "bad guy" choice with no alternatives. I hope it gets fixed by adding some real alternatives.
raiders will shoot minutemen and brotherhood soldiers for you, raiders are far better at resisting attacks due to their weaponry, sadly they are attacked by the brotherhood aswell.
and that means that raiders will shot vertibirds even if your in it.
NOTE BELOW IS NOT WHAT YOU CAN DO INGAME
the way i see it the institute gets a powerplayer that can draw attention away from the synths should the player side with the institute, not to mention a incognito force to use to raid outside the commonwealth later.
the railroad gets a agent with an army at its back that it can direct against whatever they decide is evil after the institute is gone (shame you cant end maingame as a raider invading the institute by mini nuke tunneling)
the brotherhood gets alot of inside information on raider hiarchy and thus improves future intelligence gathering on raider bands and at the same time the power to sway the raiders towards minor threats that they themselves cant be arsed about and then have the power armored goons clean house if the player sides with the brotherhood.
well the minutemen would be erased by the raiders its quite obvious when your comparing the laser musket to the handmade rifles.
so back to my original question.
is it worth it
Not only is it worth it, but from a pure mechanics standpoint it's by far the best options. The perks are great (hell, the Pack perk is a must-have for a melee-build), and the raider settlements are actually quite good. On top of that, Mason and Nisha will just give you some of the very best melee weapons in the game if you side with them.
I'm talking about the Furious Pink Rocket Bat and Instigating Disciple Knife, by the way.
sadly the operators perk is INSANE to pass up as all you need to do to increae damage with all weapons with 25% is to fit a silencer aswell as making your sneak better at the same time,
this combined with the packs perk makes your squishy commando character a bit tougher.
all in all, its far better to be a ''warlord'' then not, its pixels afterall noone is going to judge you for enslaving them and taking their pixels away. except preston but he is also pixels.
pretty much, it dont really affect anything besides the settlements minutemen and preston.
i have enslaved all that can be enslaved yet im perfectly able to talk with the brotherhood that attacks your outposts at times as if i still were their best buddy, the institute dont care nor does the railroad. not even diamond city gives a flying ♥♥♥♥.
Sure looks like it. Ironically, the only "good" path amounts to kill 'em all.
Luckily Nuka World is much more than just being a raider. People get so stuck on the whole raider thing they forget to enjoy the new areas and the non-raider quests, and those are refreshingly different from the rest of FO4.
