The institutes synths die in droves.
The railroad dies to molerats.
All of them send you on the same kind of menial tasks, and all of them can take your power armor.
Every single complaint you made applies to every single faction.
Then again, you need mods to make it useful :/
There is a quest at the abandoned housr near Graygarden. If you are the minutemen general and was sent there by the institute you find a guy hiding insidr the house that you need to rescue/convince to join the institute..
But there are minutemen outside surrounded the house and planning to bash into there to kill him.
If you "order" them to stand down they tell you that you migjt be the general but they dont take orders from you.
I killed them all. And done with them. Arrogant and ignorant behaviours..
Someone attacks you.
You see a power armor, which has been left there powered.
Some green giant screams that he is going to eat you and then make soup out of you family.
Enter power armor
Yes?
No?
Settlers and companions have survival instincts and they act accordingly. They will pick better weapons, ammo and armor, if they are under settler AI during any attack they need to defend themselves. The will enter in to PA, if they find functional FC, or if one was left inside of it.
Settlers usually step out of PA when they get to bed. Except guards.
You can always just command your companion to exit from PA, just by talking to them.
This. Every faction has it's short commings. I pick the Minutemen to do the final quest to the main story because I think they are the best for the Commonwealth and they align the most with what my char would want. As he generally agrees with what I would want if faced with the same situation in real life.
In the game, you are the Champion of the Commonwealth and even tho you are the General, you still kick major ass compared to anyone else. And Preston knows that.
Ballistic Weave is pretty awesome and I like Deacon and his affinity. I guess one could still wipe out the RR once you get those. But I would feel like betraying Deacon.
But in general I agree with your assessment of the RR. And I certainly USE the Institute before I nuke them. And I also use BOS to get what I want without going any further with the quests beyond Fort Strong.
Personally, although BoS is fun and I love Danse as a follower, I'm going with a Minuteman ending this time. Also the mod "We Are The Minutemen" gives the faction a bit more use and prominence around the Commonwealth; I'm often bumping into groups of MM patrolling the area.
I don't really connect with the Railroad's cause but, like wtiger27, I do like Deacon and wouldn't want to murder him if I sided with BoS.
RR:We're the synths only friends. When we find a synth with the individuality and determination to escape from the Institute, we help them. We do this by utterly destroying the persona that exhibited that individuality and determination, wiping out all of their memories and then forcing a new persona of our own creation into their mind. Sure, sometimes they go bad and kill a lot of people, but that's a chance we're willing to take.
Preston is probably the most hated NPC in the whole game.
lol. I see that from the posts on here. But, really, I do not find him that annoying. After you get the point where you get the quest for the Castle, you can ignore his requests. He will still help you to teleport into the Institute and also use them to wipe them out.
