Why you should start messing around with setscale on yourself.
#1 It can crash your game sometimes but is really fun to mess around with
#2 You can and will run really fast
#3 Pretend to be antman

for best results if interested use setscale between 2-3, 4 if you wanna get risky but the higher the number the faster you'll run.

I just started using it today, and depending on your settings you can go pretty high.
if you die you may be ejected from existence like a giant can do to you in Skyrim which makes me think its a glitch tied to npc or player scale.

I did have one particular character (not one of my usual purist types) I had set at about 1.1x normal scale to give them a larger-than-life feel as they ran around beating people into paste.

One particular downside is that being at an abnormal size messes up use of computer terminals, since the character's viewpoint isn't level with the terminal's screen when it zooms in on it.

I haven't encountered that yet, but I guess reverting back to default every time you need to use a terminal would fix it, or using a mod that just puts it in every time you interact with a terminal, or via copy+paste player.setscale 1

In NV, setscale also changed your damage output for some reason (e.g. 1.5 would have you do 50% bonus damage besides being taller)

Given that it's roughly the same engine they've been working on for ages, I assume it's still the case in 4

I think the connection could be intended to balance the discrepancies between different instances of fauna.

I know at least one mod that went something like 5x on a Deathclaw.

I did have this Terminal in Bobbi's place i could never open on my Survival game. The game refused to set me in the right position to "enter" the terminal. I read this was a known Bug / issue.

Could setscale fix this on a non-Survival run i wonder ?

Good times

From what I recall, that's more an issue of objects being in the way than scale.

Having the wrong scale for yourself still usually allows you to use the terminal (at least the 1.1x thing I used does), you just can't see what you're doing.

Yeah, it also ruins reading terminals. The higher the number the further down the terminal screen goes. A pity as I like making my char a bit bigger.
