I have the Manwell set of rifles from creation club (both .308). I think it's superior to the handmade rifle you speak of although it's not nearly as customizable. On full auto the damage output of the carbine is beastly.

I avoid it simply because of the rarity of the 7.62 ammo. After modding up the Handmade Rifles with automatic receivers do I pass them on to settlers, because of the high fire-power. These make for nice looking weapons for my settlers and are very effective in a defense fight.

I ment did raiders make weapon?

All three Nuka World factions use the weapon. as it is carried by members of the Disciples, Operators, and Pack raider gangs.

No maker is cited but it's assumed that the aforementioned gangs produce their own.

Is it the Nuka-World DLC?

Splattercannon, sold by the guy who sells weapons (Arthur what, I suppose, forgot the name). Racks up damage per shot as you would with using Power Fist from a dead Swan in Swan's Pond, which makes every enemy I dealt with looked like a child's play if used properly.

Unfortunately, buying it requires you a ♥♥♥♥ load of caps or tradable items worth that amount of caps (weapons, ammo, you name it; scraps usually low-valued, but shipments can count).

Splattercannon is indeed the best handgun in the game, as automatic wapon with an insane high rate of fire, nearly no recoil issue even the lv adapted monsters (supermutant warlords, deadhead radscorpions ect) are dead in extrem short time. Only disadvantage of this gun is that it eats tons of ammo.

I'm the jerkass who abuses the console. I've used the console to spawn the the "M4 Carbine" legendary mod, which converts any weapon to 5.56 mm. The result is a quite nice ersatz-AK-101, but the perk requirements for upgrades are quite tall, and the rest of the charecter build was boring so I dropped it.

"Problem Solver " or the "Scatter Cannon ". both are the same, one is free however.

"Overseer Guardian" has to be the single best rifle however, in terms of how early you can get it and how long it remains top notch in the game.

Next is the "Kiloton" radium rifle from the Children of Atom. While being less effective against radiation resistant enemies, it is super deadly against human ones.

Perk into Explosive damage increase and Atomic one which makes your fusion cores last longer and also, increases the radiation damage from weapons which use such, you have a real beast of a rifle.

The merchant in the Market of Nuka World, for myself, has over 1000 rounds of 7.62 when I get there. Provided you do have the caps of course. He will restock also after some in game days, with a lot of them.

Good point on the settlers using them. They are great rifles.

And right outside of the Red Rocket settlement in Nuka World, the raiders of all factions and super mutants will spawn very often. So it is a good source of looting 7.62 ammo, even after completing "Open Season."

I am being picky, but the Splatter Cannon is not a handgun. It's a Rifle.

Now speaking of handguns, the single most powerful one in terms of raw damage output, is the Western Revolver. If you are lucky enough to find one which has a good legendary effect, like the "Explosive" one I have in one run, it can be a beast of a handgun.

Splattercannon is suppressed, Problem Solver is not. But they have a similar damage profile.

If you use Splattercannon with short 3-4 round bursts, ammo can stretch a long way! And if it takes more than a few short bursts, improve your aim.

True. But the Problem solver is free if you pass a speech test and a suppressor can be added.

Also true on the ammo. I found most enemies go down with ether a one shot and the damage increase is very noticeable on enemies which take more than one shot.
