Hardest to find place
Is it just me, or is Goodneighbour almost impossible to get into? I click the icon on the map and place a marker, follow it, and 50% of the time just find countless buildings and walls in the way. No signage whatsoever. I have to use a jetpack to get in, then usually end up landing on some poor unsuspecting fellow who managed to find the door.

It's very hard to find yes.

The way I always come at it now is to go to Old Corner Bookstore and climb over the bus / rubble. You're then on the street outside Goodneighbor with the gate straight ahead of you and the neon sign visible.

Another way is to come through the square outside Faneiul Hall, go up the stairs, head straight then turn left. That brings you to about the same place.

Why don't you just 'fast travel' there? It puts you just inside the entry facing the two traders.

You have to find it the first time each game in order to be able to fast travel there.

And that's if you're not playing Survival.

Activate the Silver Shroud radio station in your Pipboy, then activate the quest it gives you. Leads you to Goodneighbor.

Good suggestion but - OP has said he can't find it even with a marker.

And I agree, marker is a liability because it keeps guiding you into impassable walls.

Basically the only way to get to Goodneighbor is to already know the way. I found it by total accident the first few play throughs, or by wandering around for hours of real time.

It would really have been a help when Nick tells you to go to Goodneighbor, a place he knows, if he would take you there. But no, he says he'll "meet you there" without even checking if you know the way.

I thought the OP said the marker was on the map. Isn't that only put there when you first arrive at a place? I thought if the marker was there, you'd been there at least once. I still get markers appearing on my map when I get to a place for the first time.

Still, there is a thing called 'Fallen Skybridge' directly south of, and pretty close to, 'Goodneighbour'. If that is marked on the OP's map they could just go there and then head straight north. Can't go too far wrong with that.

Of course he says that. It could be seen as a 'test'. After all, if you can't find your way to an entire well-known community you're not going to be much of a detective.

I get the impression Goodneighbor doesn't want to be found. By the time you see their sign, you no longer need it because you're already there.

Have not had any issues finding Good Neighbor. Finding the Courser during the quest which sends you to C.T.I. ruins, was the one I had problems with, until I wrote down he is in the large rounded shaped green building not that far from the C.T.I. ruins.

After that it has been very easy to find him. And I know you have the radio signal to find him, but the first time, the quest says the ruins. And he is not in the ruins. :P
That's the easiest thing to find. The radio signal gives you a percentage signal strength, along with a bleep rising in pitch. You move towards the strongest signal, easy.

You think that's confusing.
Getting the cache from Hub 360 ... I still get lost where to go. Heck the quest marker itself is even confused. ^^

The line also goes to several other places, I would imagine that would be the slowest way to find Goodneighbour.
Actually, it's probably the fastest way. You pass the state house, then the graveyard, then you turn, and there it is!
And I've to remember what order all those things are in.

Also if you have jetpack you can enter Goodneighbor by flying over its fence from any side.

I admit i was surprised when i first discovered this. I thought i would hit invisible wall.

Works with Diamond City too but is a bit harder to pull off.
Why would it be harder?

I don't like fast travel, it ruins the game. Might aswell just click a button saying "solve this for me and kill all the enemies".

In real life, I've been given a lift somewhere, then they assume that means I now know how to drive there myself, after ONE lift! I need about 10.

Eh? It's extremely useful, for example in a building with loads of levels and doors, and you have to get to an enemy or item, the marker is useless as it shows you to a wall. But VANS draws a line along the ground to say which way to go. It's like the difference between a modern satnav saying turn right, left, etc, and the old ones that just say "NW 376 metres".
