These paired with appropriate weapons is what makes it click and turn you into a ultimate killing machine.
that is also op'd in regular mode and exploding bullets. Earliest you can get a weapon with explosive bullets.
i just keep on making these 2 better each time i come back to main camp and i 1-2 shot 90%+ of all enemies
both weapons are built as non automatic rifles
One can also Beeline later to get the Kilton Radium rifle its better tho slightly slower version of Pray and Spray that also can be fitted for Rifleman playthrough. The radiation damage doesn't have much negative impact vs creatures immune to radiation or creatures that get healed by it cause the ballistic + explosive damage cuts through like through butter regardles.
It also as a bonus occassionally glitches out in terms of automatic mode firerate and fires as fast as a mnigun for as long as you don't save and reload after having this weapon stored in a container or dropped on ground (Tho if you use Unofficial patch this might not even happen)
For armor it's pretty much metal armor early on, and power armor as soon as you can.
I've found that the best weapons to have is a combination of something for close up and something for far away. You can go with two guns. A sniper rifle and a shotgun, but I've found a medium sized melee weapon and a long ranged sniper rifle works out nicely.
