Cannot attach wire (Workshop mode)

Hi, I'm hoping anyone can help me as I'm completely clueless as what to do. I use SS2 mod, with all of the requirements. Obviously other mods are involved, as well. After putting down the generator and recruitment station, I was able to connect the two with the wire, and the stranger came and we did some quests.

After we returned back to Sanctuary (with Preston and co.), however, I'm having this issue where when I try to connect (attach) wire, the object just got de-highlighted, and no wire coming out (until I press space again), but it's back to the workshop menu.

Essentially, I am now unable to attach any wire or pull a wire to a different power object anymore. I tried removing mods, removing SS2, and starting new game from scratch (just run to sanctuary right after exiting vault), then build generator and try attach wire, still does not work.

Anyone can help? I did not change the key binding for it too (Space), and the workshop still showed attach wire - SPACE, but not able to do that. Anyone can help or have ideas of what to try?

Get the mod that removes the need to hook up wires.

Do you have the materials you need to craft wires?

There must not be any obstructions in the wires either. No going through walls, and not even wires going through a part of the item you're trying to power.

Wires don't require any materials. I think at one time they did, but thats not been true for a while.

Yeah I remember they did require materials in my past playthroughs but since I've come back to the game and been using Mass Fusion Wonder Power, I don't have to worry about that anymore. Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it.

I'm getting the same problem now as well. Almost the exact same setup. It shows attach wire but then nothing highlights and a wire does not appear. Pressing space again cancels and I can return to moving or building, but while in this half "trying to attach a wire" mode, you can't do anything.

I found out it's one of the mod causing it (Buffout 4 for crash logging and memory improvements), as pointed out by some of the users in Nexus. They updated the mod yesterday with this specific issue, and now it's fixed!

Thats interesting about Buffout 4 since I use that mod myself. However, I never upgraded to the new version because of the bugs that some people posted on the web page.
