Attracting more Settlers Clothing
Hey So just a quick question regarding attracting more settlers. Does one change into the high charisma clothing in the settlement you want to expand?

Or change clothing at another settlement then fast travel to the settlement you want to expand? :P

Just put on your clothing and leave it on default. I tend to change into powered gear when I'm in combat, and charisma gear when I sleep.
ah ok, thanks!, ill keep it on all the time when im not in combat. How long do i have to wait for settlers?, since im going to take chems i don't know how many times i have to do it.
you can add charisma pts too via console commands incase you want more settlers but wanna have more clothing options.

Tbh after 16 you sorta run out of jobs.

I think the fallout 4 wiki on settlements tells you, you get up to 4 assuming everyone has a job. If there are more than 4 unemployed it stops. I also use chems only to move settlers to outlying settlements. They probably wear off before you get more settlers accumulating.

That's why about half of my settlers tend to end up as guards.

I use to. Not any more in this Very Hard level play thru. 12 -15 settlers is all I want. Easier to manage and happiness is easier to keep up as it is spread out among all the settlers.

I find having to change gear to be annoying and only do it early in the game to generate more caps from selling items or buying one of the best rifles in the game. The Overseer's Guardian.

And in some specific encounters.

Ok, so i've taken beer ingame with the party perk so i have 15 charisma. But i have taken multiple and each time i didn't recieve any new settlers.

I have everybody assigned except Sturges, mama murphy (set her up at the bar but she newer stands by it), Codsworth and a brahmin and dogmeat. do any of these affect the population count?

according to the wiki, max growth is 4 unassigned so you got too many non workers there. Sturges can farm. I've never been able to get cosworth to do anything, usually I assign companions to grey garden.
Ok, i sent dogmeat away. Ill try to assign Sturges to farming

I suually use cogsworth as a provisioner to keep him out of trouble heh
So i changed outfit to a dirty suit and it worked then. seems to be the alcohol that isn't attracting more settlements

I would have generally thought alcohol is too much of a short-term effect to rely upon unless you're trying to increase the population limits when shifting settlers between settlements.

Attracting them in the first place is always a bit of a gamble, so you might just get unlucky at times.

yup

mine i just spam soda fountains b/c ♥♥♥♥ it why not? I literally have 400 turret defenses that extra guard will get shredded by them instead of helping lol.

With the food processor generators mod i have even more to do ♥♥♥♥.

Yeah I built the living hell out of tenpines buff in order to turn it into a vassal settlement.

I originally planned to have 30 settlers here all farming food but the budget limit maxed out at 22 all farming tatos.

Oh well that’s 66 food for outposts from just one vassal.
