RTX 3070 Crash To Desktop (No Mods) SOLVED
I recently received an RTX 3070 which I installed into my PC. But when I tried running Fallout 4 it crashes to desktop with no warning or error message after about 1 minute. I don't have any mods installed but I also haven't played in about 2 years.

Does anyone know what could be the cause if this issue and a solution?

If "weapon debris" is turned on, then turn it off.
Option is in the launcher under "advanced".

Is that an issue now? I seem to remember using it before.

What was your GFX card back then? It's only an issue with newer Nvidia cards AFAIK.

Oh, yeah it was a GTX 970. That kinda sucks.

Its an issue now with all Turing cards, which your RTX is. You can either disable Weapon Debris as ShutEye suggested above OR install the Weapon Debris Crash Fix mod thats available on Nexus.

Either way, your CTD issue should be resolved

Have been playing with it both on and off on my GTX1070, never noticed the difference :)

not really relevant as it still doesnt support flex
For anyone searching this fix for a RTX 380 Ti. Disabling weapon debris fixed my CTD. I do have the Unofficial Bug Fix Mod enabled. But I was crashing to desktop after playing for just a minute or so. No more crash after disabling weapon debris!

Can confirm. I am playing on RTX 4090 with 120 Hz display. Thought the issue was the game engine timed to framerate. Disabled VSync and Capped to 60 in Inspector and the game turned to stuttery jelly and still crashed right after leaving the house and heading down the path to the Vault. Reset everything, tried the Weapon Debris Crash Fix and High FPS Physics FIx and that fixed the crashing for me. Successfully got out the Vault and stepped out into the world. Will see how it goes from here. Thanks for pointing this out. Hopefully they don't pull the same engine timing/framerate hijinks in Starfield!

You cap to 120FPS if display runs at 120hz, and turn OFF v-sync in game, turn ON FAST SYNC in Nvidia Drivers. (AMD - Enhanced Sync)
