How does the perk "fortune finder" - "shower of caps" work?

I killed someone, I got a shower of caps, I can't find them on the ground, did I catch them?

Found out myself, and you're both wrong. I killed someone indoors and found them all over the floor. Picked them up as though they were one item. So I assume the ones outside were hidden in the undergrowth.

Sometimes they just clip through the ground mostly on hills and sometimes roads I believe unfortunately I don't think there's a way to fix it but tbh that perk isn't really worth it, you want the one that lets you find more in containers if you want a noticeable cap increase

Ah alright been a while since I've used them it's pretty easy to get caps just by selling collected weapons so I don't use those perks often

Now solve the next problem, which of the 50 caps on the floor is the one I have to pick up? Because only one of them works. Not easy to find it when being shot at.
