performance worse with F4SE + Buffout4?
Just curiou if it is standard. Wanted to fix some crashes si I tried this - however I noted there is notable increase of short time freezes in game related to "loading" - e.g open workshop, start animation like cooking, loading distant objects... For sure it affect my overall experience negative way.

Anyone know if this is "normal" or any fix possible?

Take a look at your xSE PluginPreloader.log file in your Fallout 4 root directory just to make sure there are no load errors. Just as a point of information, in order to get Buffout4 to work in my game, I had to change the load method in the xSE PluginPreloader.xml file to ImportAddressHook since the default wasn't working.
I can not find the file.. Might because it is handled by Vortex?

The XSE PluginPreloader is a requirement of Buffout4 and if you installed it with Vortex, I'm betting it put those files in your DATA folder, which is INCORRECT.

This is from the author's mod page:

Installation
Put IpHlpAPI.dll and xSE PluginPreloader.xml in your root Fallout 4 directory (where Fallout4.exe is), NOT in Data folder.

It isn't normal.

Did you include all the requirements for Buffout 4? This sounds like it is failing to load correctly.

Yeah I have installed all requirements from Buffout page.
Ilja Mar 20, 2021 @ 5:22am
From Requirements tab (main page) as well?

Just making sure.
Včelí medvídek Mar 20, 2021 @ 5:26am
All l from requirements listed here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/47359

Otherwise it seems as script lag, even things like TAB in crafting menu are semi-responsive.
SuperSledgeNY Mar 20, 2021 @ 5:59am
Yes but are you sure that Buffout4 is loading correctly?

There's a Buffout4.log file in Documents/My Games/Fallout4/F4SE that will tell you if all elements have loaded without error.

You didn't mention it in your post but in MOST cases, users have ALSO had to edit the load method in the xSE PluginPreloader.xml file.

If you're getting lag when activating the Workshop, it sounds to me that Buffout4 is NOT loading since that lag is just one of the things that Buffout4 has patched.

This is the log file, do you see some error in it? Also worthy to mention I had no issues prior starting game with F4SE

It is not normal for sure. How much ram do you have? And do you have the game on a SSD?

I am playing the game on a close to 8 year old computer, most settings on ultra and it plays very well with no game breaking slow downs any where.

I do have it on a SSD and my system has 16 gb of ram.

Thing is I had NO such issue before I start F4SE with Buffout. I just decided start and use it because it was suggested by Sim settlements mod that I started play and I experienced some crash already, which i would like to evade in survival game...

Ahh. Well, you make a good point in why I never use any outside source of mods for the game. They can cause a host of issues.

I was the same but wanted something new after 800 hours.. (and ye, I agree - had minimum issues during that time - so if people keep saying how FO4 is buggy, crashing.. whatever than beside few non-critical bugs I do not know what they talk about)

But SIm Settlements is really great, I never had enough patience and dedication to make such sort of settlement building myself (to reach soemthing at least distant similar:p - it make the vibes like "reconstructing the world" and I really enjoy it:)

If you enjoy any mods for the game, then that is good as long as one accepts the risks of using them. So I am not knocking you for using them. It is after all, your game.

I don't see anything in your log file that would be considered a load error but the introduction of Workshop lag after installing Buffout4 would definitely concern me since the exact opposite is supposed to happen.

Make sure you are actually starting f4se_loader.exe and somehow did not fall back to Fallout4.exe. Or else might you be looking at old log files. If you are using Bilago's Launcher then make sure it starts the right executable.

I do - either running game via direct shortcut top loader or special FSE start button in Vortex:(
