Does anyone ever side with the synth / Honest Dan?

I mean you don't get as much out of it as the covenant as the settlement. I mean you gotta kill them all then the beds won't work and you can't scrap them without a mod + you gotta rebuild with new settlers vs the ones already there.

You also gotta shoot your way out which is even harder at lower lvls and higher difficulties.

If the consequences of Covenant quest choice bother you, you can use this mod, which allows both outcomes combined, and undamaged, friendly Covenant as a settlement:

Yes, that is the best way to deal with them.

Not sure if the console command "Disable" will work with them or not. It does on the never ending burning turrets there.

Odd. I never saw never ending burning turrets, or owned beds, or anything like that. Maybe unofficial patch fixes those?

UFO4P fixes some of it, not all.
Hmmm...I remember playing vanilla and having nothing but problems settling it (before UFO4P). I sided with Dan the first time around. This time I sided with Covenant. However; I still prefer Taffington as a build site with access to water and plenty of room to expand the house with a greenhouse and all. Plus the old boathouse can be converted to a workshop with generators really easily. I have no need for 2 settlements that close to one another unless I run low on scrap. BUT, if I can reassign settlers to other settlements I might just do it to build up staff at other locations.

I have a different covenant problem. I did the test & passed it, entered with a robot, a shootout ensued, I killed all the principal named people but 3 of the farmers including "Honest Dan". Tried to resurrect the town leader & co. and then recycle actor. Now they live, some won't say anything but standard greetings but I got the workbench unlocked. All the killed people show as "Scrap" in Edit mode (cause of a mod that allows scrapping corpses), cannot assign them to anything.
