You CAN fix it however. Figure out which power setting is cutting off your sound device and disable it.
You can just as easily blame this on windows itself, since IT is the one that changes the audio device when it "loses" whichever one you are using and THAT is what causes the issue with the game, rather than the game itself. For all intents and purposes the game is still sending the audio down the same paths that it was "told" to. Windows just changed the paths so now those paths dont lead anywhere.
