Make sure to check out his other builds, especially the "microbuild" ones.
After 5min you will see settlers stuck in the foundations or on roofs and lose any interest in engaging with the settlement building mechanics.
When i play survival, i usually go from north to south by clearing all locations slowly and moving my base when i get too far from the previous one. I make a base (an outpost more precisely) and clear nearby locations from there. then move on to a next one ;)
And a lot of my settlements, only have a bed there and a water pump. No settlers or only the ones they start out with.

I also built this one last year:

Mods are obviously required to build something like those two.
Just built this a couple of days ago out of the Boylston Club using Conquest, Scrap Everything, and a few workshop mods for clutter. I will add though that there was a few things that wouldn't scrap(2 chairs and the bureau doors), so I had to crack open the Creation Kit and remove them myself
I have built a lot of large settlements and I generally do not have this issue unless I build something really retarded, and it has been a while since that has happened.
Interesting idea with just slowly clearing all of the locations. After a couple of playthroughs, it can get boring sometimes lol. I just unlocked the vertibird, so it isn't as helpful as it was before. I will have to build something when I go to nuka world or far harbor as I believe the vertibird does not work there. But right now I am going to set up some small farms + water with some spare ammo and PA laying around.
My main base is at starlight, and the southern part of the map is dangerous so I figured a small safe settlement could help me incase I need anything while I am down there. Jamaica plain was really dangerous when I first got down there, lots of ghouls, occasional raiders, and I believe gunners are down the road but I don't remember.
Very very cool to see. I also like to build my settlements to where they don't look too out of place from the rest of the world.
Where did you build both of those at? Also, what mods are the rocks from? I remember seeing some guy make a "underground" vault by using rocks. One time I built a little bunker in that mirelurk hole at coastal cottage. Pointless with how small it is, but it was cool to build.
Also very cool to see. I think I want to do something near hangmans alley but I am not sure about it yet.

I built the first one at Somerville Place if I recall correctly, and the second one is at Sunshine Tidings co-op. Building your own mountain can be tedious, but it is absolutely worth it in the end even if it takes a bit of patience.
Edit: You may also need Place Everywhere since most rocks and cliffs need to be placed so that they overlap each other, creating what looks like a solid rock wall but is actually a lot of smaller rocks mashed together.

Thank you for the information. The only major building mod that I use is USO and that doesn't have quite everything needed to build huge rocks. I will definitely check out the mods you linked.

both add doors that lead to internal cells. mostly underground but the second has a few building doors. if you have a busy settlement but want a private player home these work wonders.
this tends to be how i do a player home
