The lands I purposed would be far more diverse and avoid New Vegas' problem of being too desert and race track shaped, while still including lands that could be a desert portion of the map. It also makes for a story where the Enclave doesn't have to be the straight bad guy, but one of three flawed but with their own appeal main factions.
They also didn't fold zenimax directly into xbox gaming studios, the holding company for most of their other game studios, it retains much more autonomy than failing studios like Obsidian, that they bought outright and saved from extinction.
Because zenimax isn't getting looped specifically under xbox game studios I'd suspect they aren't going to alienate their fans by forcing exclusivity. It's possible but it would be a really dumb move to alienate that crowd and reduce how many revenue streams you have incoming.
microsoft didnt orginally have a relathonship with beth but Xbox still got 3s dlcs months before ps3.
consoles sell on exclusives so they offten bribe third parties for either full or timed exclusivity
on either full games or dlc
Not because I disliked the first one but mostly because Obsidian is a different company today — incapable of writing coherent stories or creating interesting gameplay. The devs are totally into identity politics and communist propaganda nowadays, if TOW is any indication. Do you really want this crap in your next fallout game? I don’t.
