Can you ever be awarded Old Reliable

I currently have Old Reliable and unless I'm remembering incorrectly, I could swear it was awarded to me by an NPC in Far Harbor for something I did. Now I can't remember what. According to the Fallout Wiki, Old Reliable can only be purchased in Acadia but I don't remember purchasing it there. Has anyone else had the experience where they were awarded Old Reliable by an NPC? I mean, maybe I'm just not recollecting correctly.
