Fireworks - Huh?
Fireworks. Been in my Chem Station create menu forever. Not vanilla for sure (at least I don't think so). Had to have come from one of 100+ mods I use. Which one? Really don't care.

That said: After all these years and 800+ hours in the game I still haven't figured out what they're good for or even how to fire 'em off.

What with the 4th of July having come and gone it dawned on me shooting a bunch of 'em off at my one and only settlement (the Red Rocket gas station south of Sanctuary) might have been fun.

But - too late.

Anyway - what the heck are fireworks for? Do they scare off ghouls or hypnotize them like they did in that zombie movie I forget the name of or is it something else?

Inquiring minds need to know...

The most interesting thing about them is the few special variants that allow you to control weather, most notably with the ability to dispel (or create, if that's your thing) a rad storm, very cool for survival

Its from the "Contraptions" DLC. You can use them to change the weather, set up traps for alerts, etc.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

LOL! Yeah - I would - a'holes are shooting off m-80's or their equivalent still - in the day but mostly at night and doing it until around 2AM too. Must be something magical about 2AM huh?

It's the trolling hour and they take FULL advantage of it. Probably the same people that spend all their money on fireworks despite being unemployed. Probably use a $1100 phone too.

1. True Storms mod gives one a whole lot of control over the weather

2. How would a Rad Storm help one's survival?

All my time in FO4 and never shot one off. I'll need to rectify that.

1. I know
2. Removing rad storms is useful

Good point about the Rad Storm.

However, since I'm a role player (it can be done in FO4) it wouldn't feel right for me to stop one using True Storms - just wouldn't. ;)

Oh True Storm has some very aggressive weathers, like the orange fog, I cannot stand it, but still I've never used a firework once :')
