How to drop inventory items
Hi

I have 100+ hours sunk into this but haven't played for over a year. My character can't run as he is overloaded. I have completely forgotten how to simply drop in inventory item - d'oh!. Can anybody just remind me please?

I also had a mod that listed exactly what the character was going to say which no longer works. Anybody point me in he right direction for this?

On PC it should be R when you're hovering one item

As for the mod, I bet it's this one https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1235

My key is "r". It will say the key to use in your pipboy
If you happen to be on a PS4 or using a PS4 controller, it's square.

Either way it should be the same as your Reload key. [Edit: with default bindings anyway]

My drop key is not my reload key. My reload is bound to Mouse 4, drop is R.
Because you rebound the key or was it always there?

What even IS Mouse 4???

It's the thumb button on the side of the mouse. I have very very odd key bindings. R being jump for example. I drop with "r" but it is bound to jump.

A large number of mice now come with additional buttons. In addition to the normal 2, the scroll wheel doubles as another button, and there are usually at least 2 more buttons where your thumb rests for a total of 5 buttons on a mouse. You can still find a mouse with only 2 or 3 buttons total, and you can find them with more than 5 as well.

I believe pipboy controls are hardcoded, pretty much like build mode controls.

In the French version, we can use D to scroll right in the pipboy menu, but there's no key to scroll left, because Q is used to set favorites, and A doesn't do anything, so you have to use the mouse or arrow keys to go to the left...

Y'all QWERTY boys don't realize how good you have it in games in general xD At least Fallout 4 allows to move with ZQSD properly, unlike some games (still happens in 2021, which is appalling)
