Best stealth companion?

Im going to start a stealth build and i would like to ask which companion os a good stealth one! (No Meatdog hahaha)

PD: ADA would be a good stealth companion? With the flying parts or something

Cait, technically speaking she's the only one with the "Doesn't affect detection" flag set to on, all others companions are able to be detected

short answer: NONE

just invest 1 or 2 ability points in 'lone wanderer' or something like this, which makes you able to carry way more stuff AND gives you a 15-30% damage boost on your supressed weapons.

trust me, you're bad BECAUSE they are loud af
you're useless for stealth - no matter if short range (suppressed pistol) or long range (supressed rifle)
they immediatly give away your position.
sure, if ♥♥♥♥'s on fire then it's better to have a buddy, who will shoot at them too, BUT to even avoid this situation, take my advise and try to put point into ninja-perk too.
you'll be able to take out most raiders with a supressed pistol with one shot

that's why you sneak and wait for the right moment to shoot.
if the enemy is already alerted, they move fast or peek at corners.
if they peek, take your time for a headshot. don't spray and pray.
i also advise to go only for semiauto rifles in the beginning - no full auto.
especially when you want to play stealth, you don't waste points for fullauto weaposn

semiauto rifles? I was thinking little weapons and sniper rifle

You can always put Legendary Chameleon armor pieces on them. I read it works on them too.

it does work, but can also be buggy at times and not activate. Which requires the player to unassign it to the companion and then assign it again.

Also if you want to use a companion for stealth play, it can help to equip them with leather armor. Esp. Shadowed. And the right companion. Do not use a robot or Danse. Personally I like using Curie in human form. She kicks ass in melee.

that's what supressors are good for.
if you're really quiet, they wont immediatly know your location
even when you can't build suppressors at the beginning, alot of loot weaposn have them equipped and you can detatch them (weapon mod in inventory) or upgrade the weapon to your style.

and as jojo said, cameleon armor will give you stealth-boy "invisibility" if you equip them and then duck (extremely useful stuff)
