Please provide more information. There are many possible reasons why this is happening. There's no magic solution.

List your PC Specs.
Do you use mods?
If so, have you added or removed any during your game?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the game at any point?
If you have, did you do a clean install? That is, did you remove all the associated F4 folders everywhere before installing again? Uninstalling the game through Steam doesn't remove everything.

I actually found why i was having this issue, u cant have any fps cap while going to the institute, so disable it before going to the institute. (At least worked for me)

how do i turn fps cap off?

Turning the cap off for institute is absolute nonsense. the game runs 60 fps everywhere capped properly. You don't want to turn it off. If you're having an issue in that area, or anywhere specifically, you'll want to figure out why it's happening.

Make your own thread first.

Include information:

Go to the top of your steam library window and click HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION and save that list in a text file, for future use. Post it on that thread.

Also include whether this game has ever run without problems on that exact computer. When did this start happening? What EXACTLY happens - what sort of crash is it?

But it's best not to take up someone else's old thread with your new info.

When this happens to me, crash on fast travel (or even sneaking up travel) to a particular place, I go do something else for a game day or two.
Whatever caused it usually sorts itself out (unless I left a contraption running, then it's borked solid).

Having the same issue now. Had several successful playthroughs in the past on the same computer and never experienced this. Apparently this has been a known issue for a long time.

You turn FPS cap off in drivers, but have Fast Sync on, disable V-Sync in game options also. 60FPS cap is for old 60hz monitors. Ignore the trendies that think they know better.
