The produce of the lunchboxes could be used to mass produce other items that have more use like ammo, outfits armor or weapons and could be turned into a valuable supply chain to supply other settlements.
There is a challenge in figuring this out and i feel i just miss out a small detail to get further in my own investigation!
Producing Bottlecap mines, that's the interesting stuff, the contents itself can be ignored
plastic spoons, regular spoons/ kitchen knives, chalk, baseballs, wonderglue and pencils are good sources for several base materials (plastic, steel, lead, wood, cork, adhesive, asbestos).
so i find this a more efficient process to get base materials then other processes. there is already a good farming method for farming crystal and circuitboards ( disassembling laser tripwire traps in a certain dungeon) so this could be a very efficient way of producing very much of all other scrap (exept maybe fertilizer).
