Are there any extensive, well-written quest mods for Fallout 4 like there are for FNV?
Like the someguy series but in fallout 4 or something

maxwells world is large and has decent writting. you might want to avoid it if you dont think supernatural elements fit in fallout however.

your mission is to rescue a girl from a haunted theme park.

the machine and her is good.

if you want something more exploration focused Atlas sumit redux and the authors other house mods have some really neat dungeons to explore and the wilkes estate one gives the gunners a much needed backstory and explication.

thats what id recommend

outside of that you have

Fusion city, outcasts and remnants, depravity, operation Valkyery

i persoanlly think the writtings on par with poorly written fanfics like My Immortal and on a level of awful even BOS didnt reach but there the biggest quest mods out there and they do add more choices to the main quest and by far the most fleshed out quest mods. if you aren't bothered by the cringe worthy writing, asinine fan theories being made into "lore" and weird references to real life events and politics that don't really fit fallout give them a shot. or try them anyway you might have different opinions on whats well written than me...you said you came from playing vegas right? so just think of these as like The Frontier except all the wierd sex stuff is with adults and not teenagers and animals.

really fallouts lacking in good quest mods compared to skyrim most of the ones you do get are more exploration focused dungeon crawls or story light open world maps. personally id blame the player VA for making dialog a pain in the ass for the PC. keep an eye out for fallout London and Miami if and when they ever come out assuming they dont crash and burn

These are a list of things I have tried. Most are New Lands, which tend to be inferior quality to the game, lacking detail. But SS2, South Of The Sea, Interesting npc's spice up a game. You aren't missing anything with the others.

South Of The Seas - add the swamp people, plus their homes near murkwater but also adds explorable locations in the glowing seas. No quests. Good quality.

Beyond The Borders - adds locations north of the map. There is a weak "mystery quest" not worth worrying about. Has some landscape glitches near Nakanos and other terrain problems Released in 2016. Navmesh problems. Barely passable. One location needs a few thousand rounds of ammo and a lot of stimpaks.

Interesting Npcs - one of the potential companions Mara has a medium length quest to do. Voiced. High quality. Two other potential companions have quests. And you can join a band of brothers with a follower mod.

Sim Settlements 2 - inbuilt main and minor quests. Mostly high quality. Lengthy. Incomplete main quest to be completed on a future release.

The Marshland. A separate worldspace. Mostly empty with a few sites. Has a background quest of minor interest, The author has 13 pages of mods on nexus worth checking out. Goof quality, thin on content.

Northern Springs = large area to explore. No quest that I can remember. Passable.

The Forest - nope.

Fusion City etc - lengthy but let down in places.

Changing the landscape and texture colours can be like playing a new game. Commonwealth Reclamation Project is an example.

Adding the subway system mod is another gameplay extender. The Red Wave allows boar travel to many places (fast travel). There is a driveable boat mod as well. The catch is a few of the bridges are too low to make it all the way up the Charles.
