is there a way to disable fast travel without going to survival?
I like my game's difficulty (Hard) where it is right now but I also want to try playing without fast travel. I know I can just not use the map and stuff but I want to make sure that I don't get tempted to use the mechanic. Im gonna go check out the Nexus for mods that can do this but i'm open to what you guys have in mind.

Just do not use it. No need to take a risk and introduce something which might mess up your game.

And by the way, After more than 2000 hrs of play time in the game, it sucks not having fast travel in my opinion. Which I had no fast travel in one play run to level 70 on no mods survival setting.

I'm not 100% but maybe the survival mode features mod let you select what you want.

If it does it would be helpful too, because for what i have understood, survival respawns are reduced so the task of wandering doesn't become an awful chore.

If you know a thing or two with the Creation Kit, there's a global "HC_Rule_NoFastTravel" used for survival mode that you could possibly apply to your game by creating a script and firing it with a quest, but that requires a bit of tinkering

It is easy to say no on the pop up about fast traviling to the destination or simply do not click on it on the map so you do not even see the popup.

That said if you just can not resist the urge to use it get one of the many mods form nexusmods that allows customizing survival mode and turn on/off whatever features you like.

for example.

Just type " enablefasttravel 0" in the console if you're the type like me and prefer not to use mods.

Lol. That isn't going to work. Impulse control isn't really a thing anymore. With today's society, in video game terms, general skills cost maybe 1-5 points. Impulse control costs 1 million points.
Yeah, I have to agree with this. Swam all the ♥♥♥♥ way over here to Spectacle in survival. Started setting stuff up and realized I was short one ceramic so couldn't make a beacon.

You can't tell me that with the ability to fast travel, you wouldn't just pop on over to DC or GN and grab a ceramic or two along with some other stuff you forgot.

Starting to remind me of the discussion about console saving in survival mode due to the numerous CTD issues that was going on at the time (before it was discovered to be the weapons debris issue) some people insisted that no one could have the self control to only use the save if it was a bug like a CTD that happened before another normal save could be done. It seems they think only children with no self control play games even when the games rating indicates that no children should be playing it.
