What makes Codsworth happy in general ? He seems to be quite unhappy with me....yet I have full charm and am able to persuade people easiy.

Not a veteran player, but from my experience he likes to see the protagonist help settlers of the wasteland solve their problems. Don't threatening or asking extra money during conversation. Also he loves it when you mod your weapon I think. That is all i know, you should check fallout wiki website(See Affinity section) if you are ok with some spoilers.

He likes you being generous and nice in general when talking to other people, likes you giving away items, healing Dogmeat, loves modding armor and weapons, likes helping the Minutemen and accepting settlement quests.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the answers. I noticed that moddding weapons raises his happiness. And helping settlers, especially in Sanctuary (defense building etc...).
But right after the Settlement was completed in Sanctuary, Codsworth became more unhappy than ever.....
I guess I persuaded people a bit too much so they pay more... I think that´s what he hates.....taking advantage of people asking for the extra buck :s

Yep. he does not like the player being greedy or selfish. But you do not have to rescue Preston and his gang in order to get his max affinity. As long as you go to Concord, you then can go back to him and pick him up as a companion.

His affinity perk, is beneficial when you do the Mechanist quest.

Or you can download e.g. Crimsonrider'S affinity booster and remove the "-" from the two edits for dislikes and hates with FO4Edit. Problem solved, companions can complain all they want, they always love you.

there was a cooldown of codswortn affinity increase. 3 ingame hours or days.. or was it 1 day i cant remember.

so he wont continously like your actions if they happen too often.
