Purified Water problem
Hello all.

I have some problem, I think.
I have a little colony in Sanctuary Hills with 5 settler.
I crafted 10 water purifiers but it seems that they don't make a water.
I found that there is one bug - if you have dirty water in workshop water purifiers don't craft a purified water. I got all dirty water to my person inventory, but it didn't help.
So I have some questions.
1. Could this be the cause of the problem, if I have some other drinkable items in workshop (like alcoholic beverages) ?
2. How much time I should wait to get some water ?
3. Does sleep or fast travel help to wait faster ?

The game will check once every 24 game hours if there is room to store water. If there is than a lot of water can be stored. Once. You must empty it out to get water again.

Okay, thanks. But I have a lot of lots in my workshop. And I can't walk with it in my inventory. Could I craft some box or crate to save it ?

Yes.

Then empty everything from the workshop to this container.

Remove what you need and put back to the workshop when you need to craft/ Build then empty it after finishing.

later, when you get provisioners, make a settlement into your "Supply Depot"... this one will have 0 population and serves just as somewhere to store your supply's... Connect it by sending a provisioner too the "supply depot" settlement from another populated one.

If you have the Automatron DLC then the Mechanists layer is best for this eventually, as that does not have random encounters spawn in as you enter it/ rest there etc but topside ones will do so will need defences still. With defences any will do that can be connected by a provisioner.

Remember that settlements will eventually fill up their quota's over time so you need to keep going around every once in a while and empty all the workshops you have back to the "supply depot" to make the most.

Hm, it's unlikely that your other beverages mess this up. The limit to beverages stored in the workshop seem to be somewhere around a thousand for me, so unless you have specific bugs (like with dirty water) you shouldn't run into overflow any time soon.

Also, assuming you are just using the water production for caps income (as that is the only reason I can imagine why you'd need very high amounts of water, where you might run into beverage caps), instead of a container to empty the stuff into you can also just grab the local leader lvl2 perk and build shops in your settlement. Then you can grab the water form the workshop and sell it directly to the vendors.

As for respawns/new spawns of water in the workshop, it seem to only produce new stuff in the settlements when you are not in that settlement. So quick traveling, or oging somewhere else and resting there, then going back is best to spend the time, though you should hardly ever need it.
A bunch of large water purifiers will literally stock up hundreds and hundreds of water for oyu every time you visit your settlement between questing, and should rake in more caps than you can ever spend.

Make a storage (any conatiner) for all your consumable items right next to your workbench and regularly clear all your consumables (water, fruits, stimpaks etc) from workbench and put in separate container or sell straight away. The rest of ur junk (and ammo) u can leave in the workbench, its only consumables that can get water and agricultural produce get bugged. Also if it doesnt work straight away disable all your purifiers then reenable them, then sleep + do a small quest and come back to check.

Edit: one of your settlers might be a synth, quicksave kill em all and see if thats true. If one of em drops a synth component, he might sabotage produce, reload, send him to a remote settlement with 0 population (like red rocket) and kill him there.

I've crafted a big crate and just moved all lot from Help tab in my workshop to this crate. And it helps.
Now I have about 250 items of purifies water every game day. Thanks all for your answers.

The best place to put self-gathering items is NOT in your main base where you store stuff. You want to put food, water, scavenger stations, etc all in settlements that ONLY gather those items, so as not to fill up the inventory fast. You never want those in your main settlement because YOUR storing stuff there, filling up the inventory.

Only keep basic food and water in your main settlement to match the settlers, and OTHER settlements you can bump up the collectables. Then you can do a "gather" run once in a while when you think about it, run around to all the settlements and empty the workbenches so they can gather up more.
