random REALLY long load screens?
I can exit a building and get a 5-10 second load screen, i can enter the same building again and only have a 5-10 second load screen. Then i can exit the exact same building again and bam im hit with a 2.5 minute loadscreen. Really bethesda?

Things i've tried
-Reinstalled fallout4 completely with NO mods just to see if this would still happen, it still does.
-Steam file integrity check on fallout4 GOTY, no bad files found.
-Deleted my documents fallout4 folder and let the game generate fresh ones.
-Reformatted windows 10 x64 pro today (i didnt reformat just for fo4,i was overdue for a reformat)
-Updated all my hardware drivers including my motherboard BIOS
-Ensured my SSD was running in AHCI mode @ sata 3.0, ram in dual channel mode. Did a benchmark on SSD and it has 550mb/s read/write which is good
-Disabled games vsync (enabled it in nvidia instead)
-Disabled windows 10 pagefile
-Disabled "Shader cache" for fallout4 in nvidia control panel
-Disabled the new write caching feature in steam
-Made sure nvidia was set to "prefer maximum performance".
-Made sure windows was also in high performance energy mode.
-Overclocked i5 6600k to 4.0ghz permanent instead of the default 3.5-3.9ghz dynamic
-Enabled "Rapid mode" for ssd in samsung magician (it really boosts load times in many games)
-Blew on the fallout4 cartidge
-Switched to geico

i5 6600k, EVGA GTX 1080factory OC to 2.0ghz, 16gb ddr4@3000mhz, 500gb evo 850 SSD

Everybody seems to suffer that drawback which is included free in this game. Such big map/cells require it no matter how goody great your system may be. The worst part of this title for most people especially when in the middle of an action sequence and crossing through some cells. I guess one day gaming will soon evolve past that as hardware improves........... there are some short cuts to improve apparently if you can be bothered with some lengthy processes involved.

for a stable polished experience. Vsync is a good thing. People who think otherwise are uninformed. It's not a competitive shooter so i don't need 1ms twitch response times

vsync won't really help you in this game tho... you didn't answer my first question either

Oh i thought i was here to get to the bottom of why the games loadtimes are so messed up not to be interrogated. yes i have tried that, in fact most of my settings are at medium/high. Item draw distance slider is at the very lowest (a great fps boost highly reccomend), my object draw distance slider is at 40%, and my actor fade distance is at like 25%. This is the only way to get uninterrupted 60fps butter smooth in cities

But i actually did run the game after deleting my config file once and it ran in a very very low resolution and i went to load a save and it was taking forever so i ended task in task manager. So i don't think lower graphics settings helps

imo pc games played in single player should not only be 60fps, but butter smooth 60fps. Most people think games either run silky smooth at 60fps or they dont and there is not much that they can do about it. But that is completely untrue. Most pc games by default do not have vsync working properly. You can tell its working properly when you have that BUTTERY SILKY SMOOTH amazigness when you turn. Disabling vsync in most games and using nvidia's instead (also ensuring the game is running in exclusive fullscreen mode is important, but that is complicated to achieve on fo4. You have to setborderless=0 and setfullscreen=1 in numerous config files for it to work)

I have been playing FALLOUT 4 since release day and have just recently gotten the same issue over the summer on my old very capable pc as well as my latest one i got this past september. Fortunately i ran across a thread with some helpful folks who provided the below solution which i now quote:

"Locust has Fallout 4 Oct 4 @ 3:04pm

I don't have the same graphics card, but have had the same issue with loading times, over five minutes to walk through a door at times.
This fix is for the Geforce using Nvidia Control Panel, but you may find the same options in the ATI manager.

Open the Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3D Settings, Edit the 3D Settings for Fallout4.exe like so:
Threaded Optimization: On
Triple Buffering: On
Verical Sync: Off

After making these changes, my load times went from 5-6 minutes, to 5-10 seconds no matter where I go.
You'll know it's working when you see the loading indicator at the lower right of the screen flash extra fast.
Also note that this makes the lockpicking extra fast as well"

End of quote.

Along with the extra fast lockpicking it will also make radio songs end rather suddenly instead of with a smooth transition due to the increased speed of having vsync. Lip syncing will also be noticeably out of sync sometimes. Another thing i have noticed is if you used radio mods it will make them act all wonky with them switching songs at any time before they end.

Not a perfect solution but maybe something to use temporarily when not wanting to deal with long load screens. The issue also seems to disappear after awhile when i set back everything to vanilla settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.
it's due to the weak engine and how FPS affects its performance. since you're on an SSD, use load accelerator mod. it uncaps the FPS during any loading time to significantly speed it up.

Thats because the super high framerate is messing up the game engine. I reccomend the mod that only disabled vsync when you enter a loading screen.

Thats weird i was just talking about that before u even posted that

The fact that disabling vsync speeds up a loadtime is sad. It means that loadtimes are on a timer waiting for an animation to finish. And playing that animation in fast forward is what fixes it. I hate games like that. Just proves we got a console port.
