Yep, they do, but i guess it depends on their schedule (the ones assigned to a guard post obvioulsy don't sleep) and/or time of the day.

The regular humanoid companions can use beds, if they're not currently your active companion or otherwise occupied, and romanced companions will sleep along with you, whether they're your active companion or just nearby.

Companions who are super mutants, robots, or dogs don't use beds.
If you assign a companion to a (free) bed as a command, they will sleep in it forever, like Sleeping Beauty, until you wake them up.

Approach the companion, select Command, then point at the bed and click Use bed (or whatever the verb is).

I hope you are not asking if you active companion sleeps.....

If you send a companion to live in a settlement after being dismissed they are just another settler.
Also if you have romantic affinity with your current companion, they sleep when you sleep, in the same bed.

Thanks all, I wanted to assign an active companion to a bed to sleep when I sleep.
As I understand- no can do.

They sleep mostly during combat.

You misunderstand. Yes you can do this. It can't be the same bed you or someone else is using. You have to wake them up manually. It works differently when they're a romantic companion, then it's all automatic.

I was curious cause I'm currently travelling with Danse and everytime I forget to sleep like I hadn't sleep more like 2 or more days danse always says "we should camp up here tonight" or something like that and I don't know if that is just because his in the military or that actually is something that's effecting him

I have come to the conclusions that companions are the true bad asses in Bethesda games. Their ability to constantly keep up with your sprinting around, lack of sleep, most do not eat, and so on.

Yes you can select them and direct them to a bed and they'll sleep on it. But they never do by themselves.

However... if the Follower loves you, they will almost always sleep in bed when you sleep.
